Crossing fingers to get new torpedo explosions!

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

When not in huge fleets, you should be able to play Eve with full graphics and effects unless your computer is ... not good. Also, what is the purpose of spinning ships without full graphics on? I can't imagine an Eve without ship spinning.

EDIT: Also, I look forward to the day of seeing dynamic missile launchers on my Drake/Gu.

Or at least cramp up the transparency like with the SEBOs for the torp explosions. They look like super novae right now...

Loaded up the one called Test Launcher, and Siege.

Those two already have mesh animation data tied to them for active/inactive, deploy/pack, fire/reload.

Maybe/probably because there's not enough room on a slot to make that work, or look good.

Or:
It's always possible to look at a ship and tell what weapons it has,
which wouldn't quite work if there was just "a hole".

I'm not into missiles, but i see that they are making different launchers,
for different missile/rocket classes ... so they probably try to stay consistent.

Besides ... it's cooler this way. :)

I've always just assumed the missile launchers used some sort of advanced cloaking technology.

Port holes, fixed, solid ejection bays, no moving parts, just openning and closing. Manticore has beautiful launchers.

perhaps the bomb launcher will be a hatch of some kind.

There was a statement/rumour going around that they where redoing stealth bombers.

Something like the malleus would do nicely.

This turret thing is rubish.


A raised area on the hull might be fine for the Drake and Manticore (although the Manti only has two launchers showing), but doesn't work at all for the vast majority of ships that can optionally use launchers.

Most of the more visually interesting SciFi shows show missile batteries/arrays, I have no problem with EVE becoming even better in this aspect.

Most hulls should be modified to aesthetically allow launcher hardpoints. E.g. a Drake warping has a smooth surface, but when it's ready to do it's business, the launchers will sort-of peek out (which also means an empty Drake probably has a few gaping holes in it). Manticore should have it's tacked on launchers removed, instead showing hardpoints.

I do really feel sorry for whoever has the task of redoing missiles visually, and I'm guessing it could take quite a while for everything to be ready for missiles. Launcher models are just a tiny step in this process.

Either they get another weapon with comparable stats to existing launchers, or the launchers get two distinct models, one of which would be designed to fit on bombers.

Pick your poison.


Also, just throwing this out here, current VLS as used on the Arleigh Burke class destroyers cannot be reloaded at sea. If they've been fired dry, the ship is pretty much toothless.
