How far they can actually go. I just got 15 jump one.

Also is destination random ? Or does it depend on site origin. My corp buddy and me both get escalation from different sites in the same system and we both received the same 15 jump to the same destination.

Random Un-luck or it is CCP super duper mechanics

15 jumps is rare, do you use shortest route on your autopilot?
Typically it's 4-5 jumps, not quite random for every site origin there are usually 2-3 general directions it'll go, it may have different systems but directions will stay the same.
I suspect the entire path is generated when you start the escalation as the last leg often has some special condition to go into other region or into lower security status. So how it goes it probably chooses the final system with that condition within some range and backtraces to origin.

Some escalations have predefined that last escalation must be in 0.0 space. So now if u started far away from 0.0 it can be quite far away.

my escalations are always going to the same constalation but different system. pre set are certain constalations and crossing in different regions. my ezcalations are usualy between 11 and 17 jumps. 90% of time they go futher away and seldom backtrack. i usualy end up between 35 to 45 jumps from origin system on certain plexes. i often cross 2 or 3 regions.

If relativity equals time plus momentum, what equals relativity, if the momentum is minus to the time?
