Ok, is this a troll? Well, yes and no...

I would love to be able to run for CSM7 this year but due to some RL circumstances it just isn't possible. Ive played this game for a long time and have covered nearly every facet it has to offer. I love EVE and with the new found support we're seeing from CCP, i feel that now more then ever we have the ability to make this game everything we all know it can be.

That being said, the non-troll part of this post is a call to the CSM7 candidates to consider my positions and suggestions as they run for council and to those who win, please keep in mind things ive suggested in your dealings with CCP. Hopefully when all is said and done, we can make EVE a better universe for us all. Smile

I'll start by covering what seems to be the major null sec issues as of current. As that has been where my focus in game has been for the past 2 years it is where im the best versed in what is actually happening on the ground. Hi sec issues i will leave to those more current on the subject.

Tech and Depleteable Moons
As Tech has been the main driving force of 0.0 conflict for the good part of the past few years, its more then obvious to EVERYONE that something needs to be done about it. As for moon goo in general, i see two issues that need addressed. First is the imbalance in value of rarity types. Technetium and Thulium being the most pronounced of the imbalanced minerals and others to a lesser degree. The ratio of materials used in T2 construction is known, so the ratio of available minerals to supply said production needs to reflect that. Secondly is the distribution of moons. Moons need to have a finite amount of resources that can be mined form them. Once a moon depletes, it is randomly re-seeded somewhere else in New Eden. Not only will this guarantee the equal distribution of valuable moons, but it will also bring back to life the good old profession of moon surveying (we didn't always have dotlan to tell us where the valuable moons were remember?).

Dreads and Titan Tracking
I find the issues we are having with both titan tracking and the lack of dreadnaught use to be linked. The simple truth is we are creatures of habit. Dreadnaughts have always been anti-capital / anti-structure ships, and titans have always been anti-support ships. As EVE evolves we need to understand that sometimes the ships and their roles need to evolve with it. It is my proposal to remove the tracking penalty from the dreads siege module and in turn place that tracking penalty on the titans. I would as well, buff damage and optimal ranges for titans to compensate for the tracking nerf. At the end of the day this would make dreads serious anti-support machines and an effective and viable counter to almost any sub cap fleet. This would inevitably lead to more dreads being fielded in combat. Titans, with their role changed from anti-support to anti-capital would be perfect counters to these dread assuming your support can hold the field (which the dreads would be killing). At the end of the day, the fleet that brought the best variety of capital and sub-capital ship types to the battlefield would be the ones with the best advantage. This is the epic space battle that i one day hope to see.

Minerals, Ice, and Ore
Once upon a time, people used to mine in EVE. Our good friend Chribba can attest to this as his Veldnaught is a testimate to days long past. With the introduction of the drone regions (i was there!), null sec mining simply became a thing of the past. With the ability of the bots to farm low ends in empire, and the Russians ability to rat high ends in drone regions, the poor modern day miner gets little love. To this i say its time to remove alloy drops from drones and replace those with bounties. Additionally, i would like to see the removal of all ice belts from hi-sec. If needed, ice product requirements for fuel blocks could be reduced to compensate for the drop in supply that would inevitably occur from this change. Low sec would be the ideal place to seed the most valuable ice as it would add a level of risk / reward to low security space not seen in a very, very long time. Once the market stabilized from these changes i think we would see a night and day change in the attitude toward industry and its role in EVE. Bear

"Ship Balance" and New Ships
CCP has of recent been doing a great job in this category. As stated before, EVE is constantly evolving and changing and so the ships and their abilities and roles need to evolve with it. Changes like those recently applied to assault frigates need to be considered for many other under used ship classes. A few brief suggestions i have are covert ops cloaks for electronic attack ships, mwd bloom reductions or ab bonuses for interdictors (as well as love for eris, heretic, flycatcher), and buffs to t1 cruisers and tier 1 battlecruisers. As proven by the create a starship contest and the introduction of the tier 3 battlecruisers we capsuleers #$*@ing love new ships! The more options we have when we select what ship to take into the fray the more dynamic the battlefield is. New ship types could fill an entire post itself but escort carriers and T2 carriers / dreads are among my favorites as far as new possible shineys are concerned. Big smile

I will likely continue to add to this list as i get feedback and continue to read through other threads here. Without having the pressure of trying to impress people in order to get elected its actually quite liberating to share how i really feel about these issues in our game today. Pirate

OH! Don't forget to vote Dr. O for CSM8!!

I'll definitely be trying to drive many of the things you've mentioned here into the CSM 7 if I am elected.

Looking forward to seeing you run for CSM 8!

i have to say, most of it looked ALRIGHT, until i got to the T2 caps ideas...

WE JUST GOT OUT of the "win all end all" mentality associated with the cap-fleets, and now you want to add MORE caps to the game? not just more, but TECH 2???? Until eve has stabilized and the current caps we ahve have there roles once and for all clearly defined and are no longer a "universal threat" to anything and everything, THEN we can think about T2 caps, but ebfore then i would also love to see the subcaps rebalanced and filled out a little more.

Well i was purposefully vague with the T2 caps for a reason Blink

The huge gap between current caps and supercaps is what is causing the imbalance were are experiencing. Had these ships been introduced a year ago we may actually be looking at a happy balance right now (long shot i know but you get what im saying).

Anyway, not going to go into those details here, thats another post for another day Smile
