Existence of My Niece, Our Heiress

Dear brethren and other fellow citizens of the Empire,

As you all know, the old Satrap family, in its as-the-very-Empire-long history, both on the old Prime and in the recent centuries upon coming to fertile Syrikus V, has not been in such a crisis.

It was as we have been a dûraêkaêta of the old, the ones who turn their backs to our Faith. Alas, my brethren, I swear it was not the case, and I strongly believe it was not in the past, too. All the testimonials, as well as documents and records in our family library, cannot point a single one, of the Satraps, out, for not being the servant of the Faith.

It seemed as we were at the end of the line. We have had no one to continue our heritage. It seemed as we were cursed. And many laughed, and many enjoyed spreading this idea. Many saw vast fertile landmasses of our planet as their future.

Well, my brethren and fellow citizens, this toy in the hands of boastful is gone. This toy, or should I say a weapon, used against us, used with our backs turned, is gone. By the Divine intervention -- a intervention Satraps deserved -- it is all gone.

WE DO HAVE A HEIR!

A heiress.

My late sister Esterr left us a child.

Commenting on Esterr's behaviour is not what I want to repeat or do this time; but this news, casts a new light on her life, and I am ready to re-evaluate it in near future. I am ready to forget and forgive.

Now, on the news of our heiress. We know her name is Sohl.

A letter came to us, sent from Colelie X, Algintal in Sinq Laison. The letter stated Sohl left the region; writer said he, or she, heard a rumour that Sohl went to become a capsuleer. In it was an attachment -- a page torn from an obscure Gallente magazine. The page portrayed two girls, one supposedly Sohl and the other of Khanid origin.

The identity of the Khanid girl is now know to us, but we shall keep it secret for now, until we are 100% sure about it. The other girl, for who the letter claims is our Sohl, looks as we expected. We know Esterr escaped the Empire with a Federation spy of Jin-Mei origin, and this Sohl on photo has Jin-Mei outlook. But she also bears the beauty and the pride on her face, all True Amarr share.

To long story short, one of the agents in our service traced her to a school in Verge Vendor. He found her portable NeoCom. We are now sure she visited a place called »Gallente Lounge« through HoloDeck as well as she corresponded with a certain »General« named Julianus Soter.

She, since then, disappeared from our radar again. But I am sure we are close to find her.

I am writing all this to ask you on two things.

Firstly, it would be to give us any help in our quest; be it rumour, proven information or any other mean to trace my niece back.

Secondly, I would like to hear your opinion on the fact -- no matter how small chance is, it is still a possibility -- that she might refuse us once she is explained who she is and what awaits her. What, than, should we do.

I remind that opinions are welcome from proven friends of the Satraps and all other who look upon us in good Faith.

May the Divine bless those who Believe.

Cordially,

Heh, I thought you Amarr types were more about imposing your will (oh, I'm sorry, your God's will) on others. Who is she to refuse?

Though, her plan to become a capsuleer is actually admirably devious. Not only can capsuleers not be manipulated nearly as easily (it usually requires large piles of ISK rather than implants, Vitoc, or brute force), but if my memory serves me right, cloning also disqualifies any Amarr noble from holding any inherited position of power. Something about the blood of clones being unpure and unholy, but I suspect it's more of everyone down the line of succession being jealous of that position they would never realistically get back.

What should you do in that instance? Beats me. Maybe for the sake of your world you will have to loosen your outdated way of thinking and accept some methods of finding leadership more liberal and modern than "lines of succession of inbred families".

In the interests of information, I should tell you that Sohl Satrap is not currently in the CONCORD database of registered capsuleer profiles. If she was, it would make her easier to find and track down given capsuleers' connections with agents who run location services, but that would also mean that she had already become a capsuleer, and you would again be short one eligible heir.

The doctrine you're thinking of is only enforced with royalty. Anyone else can more or less do what they want with regards to cloning - it is personal choice. Some still frown on it, certainly, but it's not exactly a crime for a Holder or members of their family to use clones. In fact, there are a number of capsuleer Holders flying around these days.

So... no, that's not really a roadblock here. It just makes her a little more difficult to get a hold of despite being a good deal more trackable if she doesn't want to be found. It doesn't preclude her from the position if she and her family decide to go down that route.

Edit:

She is registered, actually, but under a different name.

Upon further research it appears I was wrong about how cloning affects Amarr noble families. I suppose I am not qualified to be on the Theology Council after all.

Humbug. I suppose I could help you locate your niece, but it will have to wait several hours, as I am currently busy planetside and unable to meet the agent whose location service I can hire. I don't know why those guys insist on face to face requests. What are we, cavemen?

Then again, considering the quality of certain communication media, face to face might be better... I am referring to the fact that I accidentally edited out my initial argument instead of simply adding a reply to this thread with the comments of the above post. Apologies.

Dear children,

I addressed the public for help, not to be ridiculed or given a lesson on the right ways for an Amarr. The need to search for answer outside myself brought me here...

Sohl, my niece, has been located and her history learned. I ordered immediate stop on all further tracking. It seems the family she grew in, after my sister's unfortunate death, gave her nice package of fears, worries and insecurities to bear... I do not want to be a factor of her progressed paranoia. Delicate approach must be found.

She took part in one of those ecumenic institutions... Called: EVE University. As you are capsuleers yourself you probably have heard for this... School. Like her mother she is taking the route of science, which is something I do not disapprove, tho, I know well what mess it can make of a fragile mind, especially as my last info on her being included some strange names and organizations she contacted.

Completely sure of it, I may state -- science on our Faith would be much more beneficial and less dangerous for her; and I don't have to point out how huge and old our family library is...

First thing first I want to approach her subtly. I know my sister kept her Amarr feeding habits 'till the very end, so I may assume Sohl, while she used to be only a kid, must have eaten the same. Her taste of childhood is Amarr, no matter where she grew up.

Before any letter, before any trip through the numerous jump-gates to meet her, I want to prepare her senses for me. For the things she is about to learn on herself and her heritage.

I am ready to offer a contract to any of you pod pilots, ready to dispatch a package of genuine Syrikus meals and other sundries to her school's headquarters (found in Aldrat, Aptetter) and leave it there for her.

I believe this is the right way to do it. Opening her soul slowly and with care, for the greatness that awaits her.

Please feel free to contact me for additional info or suggestions you might have.

Blood calls to blood. She may deny you at first, but in her heart she will know that you are kin. Though the nobility of your race and the grace of God, she will be able to overcome any foreign influence.

To the contract I say: Red Frog, Best Frog. (Or if you find the Frogs less than worthwhile, there is Push Industries).

As to your daughter, she is in reasonably good hands; while there is some debate as to the absolute merits of their teachings regarding capsuleer vs. capsuleer combat, she's a lot better off than a capsuleer who receives no training whatsoever in that regard, and the industrial and trade classes they offer are quite solid, I have heard. I would recommend you contact an Eve University personnel officer directly to further this matter, though.
