The truth is that EVE is a fantastic game brimming with unrealised potential. It possesses a visceral sensation of greatness that is always just beyond reach and keeps you striving for more.

It makes you ask one question over and over and over again; what if, what if, what if? You’ll never be satisfied until you spent your time finding out.

It delivers an unspoken and unobtainable promise that drives you crazy with frustration and if you are not careful burns too brightly, leaving you gutted, numb to its politic, indifferent to it’s future and in sore need of respite. But when the green shoots of hope dare to sprout you come back for more.

It is easy to spot the flaws of EVE online because they are set on a backdrop of brilliance. You are here with me eager to see who stands most bold for the issues closest to your heart because they matter in the same way a the results of a football match matters. Pride, tribalism and tactical genius that inspires respect.

I am honestly grinning right now.

You listened to the Voices podcast and all you took away from it was that I rp?

I do appreciate the mention, though.

I guess. RPers self-limit.
They do not allow themselves to take from all that EVE has to offer to win.
RP fleets fail in alliance tourney because CCP has not given same race fleets enough synergy to prevail.

If you argued that faction hulls should gain a cumulative bonus for working together in the same way that implant sets do, I'd be happy to place you in slot 7.

until then RPers will remain a minority that the chicken and egg scenario will forever deny.

EDIT: in the interests of transparency - here is why a faction fleet buff would be a bad idea.

Way to ignore the fact that JBs were stupidly nerfed by an all-empire CSM5. Yeah, they really did a great thing there.Roll

It did do a great thing. An entire super coalition had to learn how to take gates to travel again.

this was actually a good thing. Its makes invasion possible for the attacker. The defender now has to actually use gates rather avoiding the fight. It encouraged battles not only in the important systems but also down the pipe and also you can catch straglers. Its probably one of the best changes in eve. Having the majority of your important systems with 5/6 jump bridges was a complete joke and really made it very hard to invade an enemy or catch them on route.
And beyond that, it got rid off the ability to exploit the crashing of the node so that you dont have to fight the battle, which was common use cos the systms with 5/6 jump bridges were just too important.
Its really good for small scale pvp also. As i said best change in eve in a long time back then...

1. The Mittani as chair, not because he's my CEO but I fear a CSM without him will return to being as ineffective as CSM1-5.

Way to ignore the thousands of players who unsubscribed to allow CSM 6 to have a leg to stand on. During CSM 5 term, the only thing CCP would listen to is the sound of micro-transaction cha-ching sounds they saw from other MMO's. CSM 5 warned CCP to stop doing a,b,c and start doing x,y,z to avoid a disaster with the player base and CCP ignored it. Guess what happened next? That's right. The player base raged, subscription numbers fell through the floor. The CSM 5 prediction came true. CSM 6 enters office and CCP looks at them and screams, "****! What do we do?!" Do you know what CSM 6 said?

The same damn things CSM 5 and previous CSM's have said. Stop doing a,b,c and start doing x,y,z!...?

I agree with what you say for the most part. However, this last part isn't quite true for all of the csm6. At least one person on csm 6 started to immediately defend the incarna release and suck up to ccp. The obvious idea is that ccp would then naturally say how great he is. Reciprocal sucking up. It worked like a charm for a bit. Until players started really getting sick of the bs development of the game and unsubbing. Eventually ccp and this particular csm 6 member had to change their tune.

However you are right that others on csm 6 like seleene and trebor did consistently and always keep pushing for iterations on the spaceship game and the changes players voted in. I'm just saying you can't paint all of csm6 with the same broad brush.

There may have been others on the csm6 who continued to carry the csm5's torch but ccps new policy of having the minutes not indicate who on the csm said what makes it hard to tell. Seleene is right that this policy of not saying who in particular said what needs to end. Not everyone on the csm6 was sending all the same messages at all the same times.

Make faction war occupancy pvp instead of pve https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=53815&#post53815

Not gonna pick favorites. I have a rough idea of who will likely make it and I look forward to working with them.

My CSM7 dream team would be Mittens as chair, with Seleene, Trebor, UAxDEATH, Hans, Two step, Elise and Meissa.

Chairman: The Mittani. I don't even have to go into why.
2: Helen Highwater. Cause he's like the only person who actually understands what it's like to try to program this stuff. He's a voice of reason.
3: Vile Rat. He seems legit. Also he's a Goon.
4: Two Step. Lets face it, Goons are getting this stuff right, whether or not you like to admit it.
5: Hank Azaria. Another voice of reason. Thanks for commenting in this thread Hank, I wanted to mention you but couldn't remember your name off the top of my head.
6: Random Figurehead. Must be someone popular but inexperienced enough to not know how to use abuse the chair. Howabout Mintchip?
7: DJ Tranze. I have no idea what her thoughts are on any of the issues but there was an empty spot and I had to pick someone for it. DJ Tranze rocks!! Check her out in the neweden radio channel in-game! No I was not paid to say this.

I'd definitely put some of my vote toward Chribba if he ran, but he's too awesome for me to even think of nominating him. That would be like bossing him around or something. It just feels wrong.

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

I'd point out that if software engineering background is why you picked someone I can guaranty I'm the candidate with the deepest experience in software engineering. Been at it since 1978.

Who would be your dream team?

In this thread I ask both representative and voter who you would like to see working shoulder to shoulder speaking for the playerbase.

I’m curious what is on the mind of the majority at this point in the campaign, and I just don’t have the willpower read through all the candidate’s threads, or even those with less than 100 replies.

So I’d like to ask you to finish off, or completely amend the following list of seven seats with a positive comment on why the candidate is sitting there.

1) Trebor as Chair - to keep the lines of communication open
2) The Mittani - because he makes more sense than you’d like to admit and a CSM without him would be wrong.
3) Seleene - for honest passion for the game and the future of high skillpoint players.
4) Hans - for a holistic grasp of EVE gameplay
5) Alek - bescause he escaped New York Zoo, jes kidding; for wars and wardecs.
6) Kelduum - for the newbs of highsec who can’t speak for themselves
7)

As I said, feel free to disagree, just please comment on why.

I agree with most of your list except I feel that I should be in that number 2 slot and seleene should be removed completely.
