Not really. With the removal of insurance T2 fit dessies are much more cost effective than used to be, because small T2 modules and small rigs are dirt cheap, espeically compared to the cost of larger hulls. Fully fit gank catalyst is about 12 million, you get half the mods back and with hulk loot generally come out a bit ahead, especially since they tend to drop T2 armor plates. Price-wise it's a bit more expensive than a T1 fit Thorax (but does more damage than said Thorax, is easier to evade the faction navy in highsec when you have low sec. status, and locks/pews faster which gets you more shots in when you have low sec. status) but much cheaper than any battlecruiser.

Plus if you can't/won't **** away 12M isk ships for lols you probably should be suiciding something juicer than miners anyway.

Crucible's been out a while now - still surprised people underestimate the new catalysts. They got buffed twice - hybrids are easier to fit now and the ROF penalty was removed on destroyers.

Hey CCP, can you guys up the range on a T2 Ice Miner to 15 km?

I set up a bookmark slighty above an Ice rock aligned the station, then moved back 10 km (kind of like old school gate BM's before WTZ) and then did a full speed alignment pass. With 15 km range on the T2 Ice miner I could make the pass fully aligned, pull my 4 Ice and hit dock. If I hadn't trained Nav up I could do it with the 10 km but as it stands I get too high of a full speed on the Macki.

Meh, this is what "leet" Pee Vee Pee-ers do when they're not running away from small gang fights, sitting on a low sec gate or cheating on 1 vs 1 invites with neutral reppers/gang boosts. You need to be hard-core to be a pee vee pee-er.

What is a good, and relatively cheap, ship/build to gank a Hulk in a 0.7 system?

How about a Retriever?

Edit - I am Caldari but also have a Minmater acct.

So how do you know it's a botter? Mining can look like botting behaviour in this game anyway.

Lots of people have thought they've seen bots when they're not.

Which is why I'm curious to know why you think it's a botter.

Edit: To the above poster. Using Void ammo can only be done with T2 blasters which means your doing it wrong.

In eve, its guilty until proven innocent.

Also the only way to 'do it wrong' would be to use a ship that costs more than a hulk. T2 blasters on a catalyst are cheaper than a tornado with t1 guns. Using an alt to loot/salvage both wrecks generally means that you'll make profit on the gank if you get some nice t2 salvage.
