I've always felt like electronic upgrades V was just a skill that made you wait 10 days to fly a recon

It also gives you a 25% reduction in CPU for any module requiring that. 25%! Being able to fly a ship is part of it; but being able to use it effectively is just as a large part of it. There is a good reason why CCP designed the skill trees as they have.

You obviously have never flown a recon before. I've never even contemplated putting a signal amp or a backup array on any ship let alone a recon in which every module slot is precious. The last %5 CPU reduction is maybe 1.5cpu, you'd have to search for days to find a fit that was short 1.5 cpu and uses a sigamp/backup array and even then the best solution is to use a 1% implant.

I already said that a better pre-req would be based on skills you would use while flying the recon, try reading my post and knowing just the tiniest bit about game mechanics before commenting.

Why have skills at all? Let me open a new account, spend $6000, and have my titan right away.

Well yeah, you can do this now. Open an account. Buy a titan pilot toon from someone. Buy a titan. Done.

Of course epic lulz ensue when you get pwned while trying to jump said titan through a gate. "What do you mean they can't use stargates?"

Translation: "Why I no can pay to win?! bloo bloo bloo"

Response: Because this isn't WoW. Go back to it.

OP: Was worse with learning skills. Many of the skills are not strictly for fitting. They are prerequisites for other skills.

tl;dr: working as intended

The only thing these skills do are allow you to fit your ship or unlock skills to train that ARE significant.

Any skill that must be trained by new players in the initial months that do not contribute to -> gameplay <- itself is just going to scare people away.

so wait.. training these skills means you can use to name a few:

Sensor Boosters
Survey Scanners
Co-Processors
Cargo Scanners
Ship Scanners
BCS
Gyrostabs
Heat Sinks
Mag Field Stabs
Tracking Enhancer
Signal Amp
EVERY TURRET IN THE GAME

and your saying that they are mandatory and add nothing to the gameplay? last time i checked you needed.. oh right, none of those to say.. mine or haul so they don't count right? and I'm sure that all those people who gank haulers in highsec would be thrilled to learn that those cargo scanners they use are completely useless to..

i really hope this is a troll.. really..

Moved from General Discussion.

I would like to remind you that you can argue in a civil way even if you disagree strongly with a topic. Rude remarks are not necessary.
