It's almost so adorable I have to pinch your cheek.

Cyno's lit, bridge is up, but one pilot won't be jumping home.

So they'll implode spectacularly, never really regain their former lustre, and then largely fade into obscurity, much like BoB did when they supposedly had the same perks you assume the goons have? That's what the writing on the wall meant last time, after all…

Anyway, the simple fact of the matter is that goons are bad at “EVE — a bad game”, and a lot of hate directed towards them seems to come from the unending shame felt by those who are bested by these bad players (and who think that “honour” and “shame” are applicable concepts to a submarine market simulator in space). The goons, on the other hand, are desperately trying to remain bad at the game and playing it “incorrectly”, lest they accidentally commit the mortal goon sin of taking something on the internet too seriously, and revel in the misfortune of those who do try to play seriously and “correctly”.

It's a culture cash of galactic proportions which only survives through the fact that it feeds itself.

In the mean-time it's an excellent drama-comedy for us spectators. P

Trust me goons might be good or might be bad but the average mining simulator pubby will never have the same pull as them. I think that miners and low sec pirates and industrialists and other boring carebear types should rise up and demand equal rights.

Andski, who I see is posting in this thread also, recently got CCP to make sweeping changes that puts newbies at risk of evil goon scam artists. All he had to do is make one thread and about 2 posts in it before a CCP dev came and responded. Ask yourself when is the last time you made a thread about suicide ganking and a CCP dev said anything... Ask yourself why he has this undue influence. Ask yourself why goons fly in CCP devs every year for a private goon summit in the US... Why did CCP Sreegs name his son Alex after The MIttani?

Being too serious, yeah. that would be something aw-- Uh, bad. That would disrupt our self-feedback mechanism.

We always need comedy ops after too much serious business (like trying to bash pos when people might hotdrop titans).

Newbies are at no risk from goons. Seriously, it's morons with more isk than brains who will be making threads crying about the time they wanted to double their isk. No newbie is going to be trying to buy a Raven Navy Issue (fully faction and officer fit) either.

Goons smell of wee, that's why no one likes going near their space.

I never get tired of seeing people post this, as if diplomacy and maintaining relations don't involve work, and being good friends and generally ~chill bros~ who people like to do nice things for are "nothing".

What makes you think that anyone in any alliance would want to scam newbies? Newbies don't have anything worth scamming. I mean, I hear this claim made a lot about Goons and it's one of the things that should tell anyone that Goon haters are the kind of people who will just make up whatever they can to convince people of their point of view because it is utterly nonsensical if you think about it.

In fact, I would argue that the most effective way to put an end to scamming in Eve would be to start scamming newbies on a massive scale. They'd know early on exactly what kind of universe they live in and as veterans would be much less likely to hand over billions in assets to some seemingly helpful individual after losing 100k to a similar person in their first week.

I'd even do it myself, but I actually can't stand talking to most of the people who play this game long enough to scam them for any amount.

not like CCP emails all newbies a few days after account creation to tell them about the wonderful joys of selling PLEX for ISK Roll

The Goons?

I think they tried to scam me once, and once in a while our roams will bump into their roams if we go far enough.

Although I respect the Goons for being the Glorious Bastards of EvE, I don't think anything they've ever done or will do in EvE can possibly top what they did in STO. The tears flowed like Niagara Falls - goon threads in EvE have nothing on them and never will.
