Few things that havent been mentioned so far in this thread:

- If you anchore a Caldari tower you mentally challenged anyway
- If you fly a Caldari cap ship you mentally challenged anyway

As everyone in EVE thinks he is the smartest gift given to earth, we should have none of the 2 things mentioned above on the server which makes the OPs fears moot.
Or it makes his post just an well executed troll, well done.

If you don't understand the value of Caldari Towers, the challenge is with you. Little hint, invention is _forcing_ you to bring BPCs.

Actually, the Bat Country Annual Mittani-For-CSM Participatory Democracy Jamboree is still very much alive, and should today hit its 666th dead exhumer in two weeks later today.

The question for those who rely on empire for their ice supplies has to be whether this is a feint before hitting a different ices with our thousands of alliance members (Bat Country are less than 200-strong); whether it is just one bored corp and will wear off; or whether it is deliberately lowering reserves ahead of a full-scale attack on nitrogen isotopes, as occurred with oxygen isotopes last year.

There is a lot of money to be made if you can guess the correct answer.

People still don't stock on years worth of fuel when the fuel prices are low? Shocked

"We're not here to ruin the game. We're here to ruin YOUR game."

I'm not sure why you guys keep whining at them. You know their stance, tears/words do nothing...and why should they?

If the game is taken so seriously that you can't handle disruption, it's no longer a game to you and you should step away from the keyboard.

The way I see it, you can only go around kicking people in the balls so much before you **** enough people off bad enough that they retaliate. Goons will get theirs in due time. If you are really that upset with them over the crap they pull then just be there when it happens and get yourself on some Goon killmails.

The only good Goon is a dead Goon.

Bounties for all! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2279821#post2279821

Join BoB 5.0, right now 4.0 is already fighting so they don't want to take in SPAIs.

OP, it seems you don't understand Eve very well, and rather than accept the situation and adapt/profit, you decided to come onto GD and sperge.

Let me explain something to you, and you might learn something about Eve in the process. You see, Goons are currently at war with some of the Supercap heavy alliances in game. In addition to POS's, supers (and regular caps) require the same fuels to move around. More expensive fuel can cause problems. This is a smart way for the goons to cost the price of the war up for their enemies (I understand the reason for targeting Girlantee fuels, but why crapdari? Chimera pilot with lot's of fuel reserves checking in) .

Now most null sec alliances don't have the capacity/willingness to mine their own ice in null, so most of it is imported from empire. The more an alliance has to spend on fuel to keep their caps (including the very important jump freighter) moving and POS's/Jump bridges fueled, the less money they have for things like reimbursing members ship loses, and keeping ships/mods on the market at a reasonable price. In the short term this doesn't really matter, but eventually it may cause them to think twice before deploying shps that cost a lot to replace, or the cost of moving caps might outweigh the potential gains. The average member who may have to fuel their own cap might decide that 50 mil to move some ships from a to b is to much so just flies one or two ships to a new deployment area, or they only have 1 of each ship type rather than two because the market prices have risen to offset fuel costs, so they are less effective than they would be if they had multiple shiptypes + spares.

I'm not saying that this is the case, I suspect that this is really done for tears, but ultimately doing things like is just a form of economic warfare. Either way, this is why I and many others love Eve. If you don't like it, or refuse to educate yourself about why things like this can be important (and extremely interesting), perhaps you should try one of the many theme-park MMO's where competition is non-existent, you can have no impact on the game world or those around you, loss means nothing, and everything is fair.

Adapt or die. Failure to plan for the future is no ones fault but your own.

I am sure the tears of the shortsighted that did not stock up on Nitrogen Isotopes will fuel you for quite some time.

Caldari fuel blocks are currently selling for 23K in Jita.
Granted, this is mostly due to market manipulation today, but nonetheless, current costs to run a large Caldari POS now stand at 664M/month using that 23K/fuel block price.

It does not concern me much, since I stocked up to establish a buffer.
But I am sure there are many budding industrialists you are ruining.

Well played.

I just wish I could understand what kind of mind Goon leadership must have to derive enjoyment in destroying the enjoyment for many others in this game.

Actually, it is pretty clear. Goon leadership are sociopaths.
It really does not matter that "Eve is just a game, and it is a sandbox".

Though it is quite impossible to do, it would be extremely interesting to have professional clinical psychologists study Goon leaders in and out of game, and compare their real world lifestyle with that of their Eve game style.

I personally believe that the correlation would be extremely high.

Nowhere does your argument solidify your view on Goons having ruined the game. They've infact made it slightly more challenging & fun, which is the whole point of a of a game.

I bought Caldari ice about a week before this started, on a hunch that this was coming. I unloaded about half of it last night, made an easy billion isk. Probably dropping the rest tonight.

Thanks, Goons :)

so first off:

sandbox doesn't' mean - I can do what I want on my own without interaction with other people

and

MMO doesn't meant you can't work solo - you are still interacting with other people who provide danger and competition.

Eve is like life - if you are poor you have to work to the rules and you'll get trodden on by other more powerful people. The richer you become, and that doesn't just mean ISK but other resources like armies of people willing to do what you ask, the game changes and you have more opportunities to play the game in different ways. Those different ways will impact the "little" people but at that stage you are unlikely to care.

Your choice is if you want to remain one of the little people or you aspire to bigger things

The leadership of the goons are playing large and indeed in a way designed to wind others up - but the thing is: it doesn't make them sociopaths as some claim - no one is going to die, become homeless or go hungry - they are experimenting within the rules* to see what happens.

That's Eve (and I'm coming to see there are many layers of this game - I would not be surprised if there are metagames beyond the rough collations of alliances either). Complaining that people are playing the game is a bit like going onto a football pitch during a football match and complaining that other people want the ball....

*within the rules being a lose definition - just as with the 1% in RL, within the rules basically means what you can get away with without punished in a way you can't afford

I've been trading for over 6 years. Market manipulation is what it's all about.

My admiration goes out to them if they're managing to profit big off it.

It's only one large corporation in goons doing the ganking. It's not all of goons, nor is it alliance event.

In other news,
