Don't usually like posting to the forums but after having thought about my options I feel that I have no choice but to pursue this matter further.

Without boring everybody I have recently come back to the game with a 60 day email pass. Excited about playing a game I honestly had forgotten about, the lure of the new features and a new graphix package on my home system I was lured in.

But I don't feel like playing any more.

After hanging around in the last place I docked many, many years ago I found that my corp and my friends had largely disbanded, no longer were we in the Black Legions alliance that we were in previously. I was very much on my own. I got talking to some swell guys in local and we discussed some new fittings and playing styles.

I decided I was goiing to take the route of the Caldari again and the Drake would be my weapon of choice. But drat, no isk but for a few million in the corp wallets. It was coming up to my birthday and my gran was round and she gave me a gift, so me beeing a video game freak decided to visit the shattered crystal site and buy a game time for selling on the market. I could now afford my drakes and all was good.

I now had a fleet of drakes ready to explore this wild new game. I was nervously excited as I undocked in my new drake. After attacking somebody on the station I docked as I realised this guy was not reading from the same hymn book. He camped me in station for two hours, each time trying to destroy my ship. In the ned I logged out the computer and retired for the evening.

This had soured my taste a little but I was determined to get the better and enjoy my game. The next day we managed to undock in peace and I set about my adventure. And this is where I feel let down by the game. My game experience was about to get bad and I was about to experience the very reason I think I left the game in the first place all them years ago.

I know people will call me stupid but I visited a low security system off of my main navigation route, I was shooting the local pirate spawns and noticed more and more people in local. They didn't interfere and each time they waited and left I just went to the station and waited them out. I felt good, more confidence as I engaged more and more pirates. I had heard before about pirates but my drake was handling them better than I imagined.

I was minding my own businness when another ship came into the belt and I cursed and screamed as I thought this could be trouble but I managed to warp off and I put it down to good luck that he found me. I was about to leave after collecting some bounties when I made the foolish decision of one more bounty. One more buck for the end of the day pay package.

This time I wasn't so lucky. This idiot had me. I could not escape, somehow he had me and was not letting go. I panicked. I shot some at him but he had a much better ship than me and in the end I watched as my beloved first drake was downed in front of me. Right at this point the game sucked. Some ******* had his day, I vowed at that moment to have mine. I chased him down, he would not accept an invite to chat so I found him hiding. I told them I would have my revenge.

And now here I am. I have drakes. I need to know how I can get these guys who try to ruin my gaming experience, take my own GRANDMOTHER'S cash and blow it up in the name of a laugh as I'm sure these toolheads think it is. How can I extract my revenge? I am willing to pay for the right advice. Willing to kick along in hunting squads. Need to know, cos right now I'm an angry guy. Literally seething at the unwanted loss of my drake. The first loss in my fleet.

Help me crime and punishers, you are my only hope.

Welcome BACK to eve!

I suggest you start finishing the tutorial as you'll get a few nice ships and skillbooks you can use. After that I suggest you try The Blood-Stained Stars epic arc (the final boss can be though). After that I suggest you join R vs. B if you want to learn PvP or continue your way upward towards Level 4 missions.

This is what ships you should use for missions:
level 1 missions: frigate/destroyers.
level 2 missions: cruisers.
level 3 missions battlecruisers.
level 4 missions battleship.

Don't rush it though! It can take a few months before you get the propper skills to fly and use a battleship!

eve-survival is a very nice site that can help you with missions and triggers (triggers are the ship that will spawn the next wave when destoryed).

Eve university is also a nice corp to join while learning the ropes!

Have fun and please don't use more of your dear grandmother's money to buy PLEXes! I strongly doubt that is what she'd want.

EDIT: And for the answer to your question about revenge, try this.

Now can I haz iskies?

Losing a Drake in a belt in lowsec isn't even piracy. tbh, that pirate probably thought you were there for a gudfite. That's where the lowsec pirates hang out when they're looking for fights, after all.

It's like you went to a Sublime concert and complained of second-hand smoke.

HTFU means harden the **** up.

Maybe this game isn't for you.

HTFU indeed.

TBH just red flag the guy, and move on. Revenge could be yours one day, but for now, let it be. Stay out of low sec and learn more.

Uh...I'm going with troll myself. Or maybe I'm just too jaded and accustomed to how this game works.

a little bit?? Op needs a hella lot smarter fit.

To op, did you even search or look around fits for drake? Your fit is very poor either for pve or pvp. I'd suggest trying pvp in a smaller/less expensive ships, but if u like drakes then so be it. But do check fits in battle clinic next time. You don't have to follow them, but it gives a nice framework for you to work with.

And the pirates you heard about are not the same as what you were killing in low sec.

This reminded me of that intro movie... that had something about an eye... and stuff.
And the voice says something like "You will roam the heavens, commanding the most powerful machines ever built." as a rifter drifts by.

Edit: oh, advice, OP was asking for advice. Use a catalyst. Apparently you can kill a rifter with them. Then start another thread about it.

Omg, the fit! My eyes! My frackin' eyes!

Seriously man, you need to to research some fits for the Drake. Everything on this fit was beyond terrible. Glad you got blown up. This crap is an abomination!

I'll say it again just to make sure you got the message: HTFU.

Basically, knowledge is power in this game. If you fail or neglect to make yourself knowledgeable about where you are going, how to navigate and operate safely in low sec, how to properly fit your ship, how to kill a rifter (or at least disengage from one), how to use your directional scanner, and so many other things, then no amount of help from us will ever be enough.

Do some research, reading, watch fraps videos - especially before leaving high sec if you aren't experienced flying in low or null.

This has to be a troll, theres no other explanation. I rate it 8/10 since he didnt link the lossmail in hes original post and let others look for it / posted it with hes alt, adds some credibility.

This was a fun read. If you can not accept the loss of your ship the moment you undock then eve is not the game for you. You must adapt or die. But going out into lowsec is a herp move. Your asking to lose your ship. In highsec at least you have some protection.
