Local not updating GCC

So I'm trying to compile a list of "little things" that don't work/bother me with my client to see if y'all have the same problems too, but this one can't wait.

I don't know the proper name for it, but it's the little red box that appears next to someones pic in local when they go GCC. Basically my local chat window does not update the GCC markers next to peoples names. I can get it to update though by either minimizing the window and re-opening it, or if local is big enough if I scroll down and up the list it will update. Now this isn't just a delay (is there a delay in GGC appearing in local?), it doesn't happen at al unless I do something with the local window. I have tried this with people I have been fighting with so I know exactly when they get GCC and unless I play with that window, no tag shows up. It does the same with people loosing GCC too, they just have GCC forever unless I fiddle with the window.

Living now in Low Sec I can't stress this enough... This is highly annoying!

Now since I really didn't live too much in low-sec before (or fight that much) I always overlooked this "bug" (Feature?) but I have always seemed to have it to some extent (my old system had a delay of about 4-5min in it appearing) on two different computers, with two different internet connections and two different OS's.

Has anyone else ever seen this before?

It's always been that way for me too (1.5 years). Not sure if it's a long lasting bug or by design.

Thanks for the info. So it isn't just me then.

Well bug report filled, and "filtered" which judging by the history of all my other "filtered" reports I assume means balled up and thrown in the rubbish bin.

Yea, I'm bumping my own thread.

But i really want to see how many other Mac users are having this problem. Other than it being a huge pain in my side as is, with the new changes coming in the Crime Watch code, if this is widespread among Mac users I'm going to raise a huge fuss over there with CCP. Since if they are re-working the crime watch to give people global "suspect" GCC and such for new gameplay it would be nice to not have to click local every two seconds to partake in this new feature.

So yea, I just want to see if this is widespread, and if it is I can fire off angry emails to CCP devs for introducing gameplay that Mac users can not partake in.

This bug has been around for at least 2 years. Been experienced by most everyone in my alliance. Filed a bug report and was told it was a known issue. Based on how long it has existed and the dev response...Apparently that means it will continue to be a bug and they can't be bothered to fix it.

Thanks Gefgarion.

When you say "most everyone in my alliance" do you mean Mac and PC users, or just the Mac users? It's so hard to figure out if a bug is just your machine, the Mac, or if everyone has it. I just want to get as much info before I start firing off at CCP about this. I missed another kill last night because of this "feature".

Mac and PC. Though occasionally local stays up to date for PC users, but I have never found a Mac user who has had a GCC update correctly in local without having to "refresh" the window ie close and re-open local chat. So while both experience the bug, it appears to be slightly worse on Macs.
