New Advancements for Advanced Cruisers

As you all know, advanced cruisers, also commonly known as Tech3 cruisers, are designed to be able to fulfill mulitple roles. For this, you can swap their subsystems and have different stats and even different fittable modules, depending on what you need.
But right now, this is pretty limited to 4 subsystems per type and many of them overlap in what their actual role in combat is. While there are many possible fits for a dps tengu, it doesnt change the outcome: a dps tengu. One can have a bit more cap capacity and one can have a better recharge rate, but its still a dps tengu.

So what do we need? New subsystems, that unlock new roles for them! Would that make them imbalanced, leading to fleets consisting of pure t3s which cover all the roles in a fleet by having different fits? Not really, t3s are still expensive and you even lose skillpoints. Now you could say, that doesnt matter, people already can form fleets of 200 tengus. Yes they can, but nto for long, because they are quite bottlenecked in their production, unlike canes or maelstroems, so while those alliances may have the money to continue reimbursing them, the market doesnt have the necessary supply.

Anyway, lets come to my suggestions!

Loki: A new electronic subsystems, that allows you to fit a "Stasis Web Field Generator". Its effect is pretty self explanatory: you ar elike a hictor, just with slowing down instead of warp disrupting. This doesnt have to be a 60% web like the targeted ones, maybe like 20% to keep pilots sane :)

Proteus: A new electronic subsystem, that allows you to fit a "Warp Disruption Field Generator". Yeah, a t3 hic, but i can be covert cloaky and use blackops jump bridges for the ultimate blackops drop!

Tengu: A new electronic subsystem, that allows you to fit a "ECM Field Generator". You get the meaning!

Legion: A new electronic subsystem, that allows you to fit a "Neutralizer Field Generator". Yes, it drains cap from both hostile and friendly ships in your immediate area!

So, lets keep em coming, im eager to hear your ideas and your criticism on these ones!

What are you on? T3s can already do EWAR, why do you want them to have AoE EWAR?

Also, all of those things except for the AoE web are already in the game. Learn2Fly-in-a-diversified-fleet, it doesn't need to be T3s 24/7.

I dont think there are covert ops hics which can take blackops jump bridges and point supers.
But youre right, a lot of this stuff is already in the game. But if you go by this, why do t3s exist at all? bhaalgorns are better neut legions, guardians are better rr legions, ravens are better at 200km missile spam than tengus, rapiers can web much farther than a cloaky loki and a vindicator does more dps than a proteus. Get it?

A clear NO!

I propose to introduce T3-Frigates instead.

A Covops HIC would be beyond broken, besides the fact that there's simply no justification behind it.

And, yes, everything T3s can do, something else can do better, that's the point. The point of T3s is that they can do a bit of everything, but generally a bit worse than their specialized counterparts (ganglinking is an exception, but that's supposed to be fixed soon IIRC). They have the strength of being able to refit to do a bit of everything, but they have the penalty of doing it all a bit worse than their counterparts (tank/DPS being a bit of an exception compared to HACs).

I was going to post my reasons for why not but mxzf beat me to it so I'll just say no for the same reasons. There are much better things for the devs do than make all other ships in the game redundant to T3 cruisers.

I think that a hic that can take a blops jump portal would be a great idea and a easy counter to all those ratting titans who think they are 100% safe with a cyno jammer and ingate bubbled to death.

point of interest -- "Advanced" is/was the general moniker for Tech 2 stuff ... and the T3 cruisers were listed as "Strategic Cruisers"....

with that out of the way ... no.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia
