There were optimizations done that should have reduced the performance hit in the last big patch. Is this as bad?

Let's see - abandoning wrecks suspected in the loss of shiny ships and CCP "innocently" asks if someone has tested the problem for them to see if they still lose shiny ships. Never say CCP doesn't have a sick sense of humor....

It does seem that the fastest way to check if this is still a problem is by checking the OP's date versus the deployment of the fixes date & assume the OP lost a ship or almost did? Then again one should never assume because it can make an ASS out of U & ME Blink

The post I made was prior to the said deployment/fixes. I havent lost a ship to the lag yet, but people in fleets love to talk about how CCP will ban people for blue-ing wrecks and treat it like monster stories to scare kids. I just want to shut some people up with facts and not baseless conjecture.

I was able to finally test this a little in site, and the abandoning went as smooth as a baby's bottom!
Good job CCP.

1. Turn wrecks in over view off
2. Remove brackets
3. At this point, you shouldn't even have downward white triangles on your screen at all.
4. ???
5. PROFIT! If you are not seeing wrecks, you should not lag when they turn blue. Particularly in an incursion site that will have many people, you shouldn't even have then up. Now if you are still lagging after everything is gone, then yes it is a serious issue.

I just asked in a headquarter fleet. They just tested it earlier today and they say it is much, much better - however it is not perfect yet.
So I'd say good job CCP. Smile

We sorta tested it yesterday in a fleet but 1 dingbat blued it too early (like 1/2 way thru the TCRC site) to fully test it with a full site of wrecks on field:
1) lag wasn't that bad (so it may be working :)
2)i wish we could know whom the ding bat was probably the same guy that hits tags outa order & has drones set to aggressive so they attack the X trigger tag :P guess talking about something though always brings out the 2 year olds in the fleet that kick sand in the box prematurely Roll

I have been in HQ fleets since the optimization patch where there have been blueing of wrecks (twice tonight actualy) and I didn't notice any lag what so ever. I just noticed that the wrecks were blue all of a sudden. Before the optimization patch the client would lag out completely with framerate dropping to less then 1 FPS for up to 10 seconds if someone did that.

And no, I don't have a super-specced computer... I'm actualy thinking about replacing it in the comming months cause it's getting old

A log of events like who's blueing wrecks would be great though

When it comes to drones, that is an issue not related to having drones set to passive or agressive... when drones are set to assist another fleet member, they completely disregard the passive setting and goes all out agressive. I posted about it n the "Little things" thread here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=853302#post853302

so using features are now exploits because of poor design?

really?

and it only effects logi?

really?

and to top it all off someone is killing enough incursion rats all by themselves to lag out the node when they abandon them?

rea..aaahahahahahaha..ly?

how about buying a better computer and not blaming other players because your rig sucks

Read up about intentionally causing lag being an EULA violation. Nothing to do about about using a feature it's abusing a feature.

Yet you do know that half of this issue can be solved by showing blue events in fleet history. Then that gives relatively enough extra time to find the deep issues that cause this.

BTW you seem to know little about wrecks or incursions if you dont know that everyone in fleet can blue all wrecks.

Have tested blueing of wrecks in large sites(TCRC's) where there are hundreds of wrecks & happy to say lag issues of past ARE cleared up. Well job CCP with the problem fix
