Voices from the Void, an Eve Online podcast you should listen to if you like squirting, half-pubbies, and upstanding pirates, is getting in on the CSM7 election cycle action with a series of '1v1s' between select candidates.

Our first 1v1 has already taken place between Hans Jagerblitzen and Kelduum Revaan. The 1v1s are essentially interviews conducted by VftV with two candidates at once - giving the candidates themselves the chance to ask questions of their opposition and make their case to you, the voters. The format is loose and we have the candidates on for the entirety of the show, hopefully giving you an idea of the person behind the name and forum raging.

Episode 36 - Hans vs. Kelduum (starts at about 1:06:30 in)
Episode 37 - Mike Azariah vs. Alekseyev Karrde (1v1 starts at 1:10ish but really good answers throughout)
Episode 38 - leboe vs. Blake Armitage (1v1 starts at 1:08 but topics are covered throughout)

SPECIAL EDITION: CSM6 Incumbent Heavy Weight Bout - Featuring Seleene, Two Step, and Trebor.

We are targeting non-bloc, non-incumbent candidates who might just have a chance at winning a seat on CSM7. We have received several requests for the last pairing, which will air just days before voting commences - but we still haven't decided yet. Once we have nailed down our subjects, I'll update this post.

So go on - and listen to the Voices! C'mon, you know you want to just wallow in CSM coverage as much as possible you New Eden politicos.

Fixed the OP for ya. Focusing on non-bloc, non-incumbent candidates :P Though we may have a 'heavyweight' round of two incumbents in Episode 38 - we haven't really decided yet, lots of people we want to have on but only two slots up for grabs.

How do you figure that I am bloc-aligned? I am running as an independent candidate.

My coalition will not be backing me with votes. I am not in a leadership position in my organisation, and I am not privy to what sorts of things my coalition leadership would consider favorable. I cannot, even if so inclined, represent biased interests, because I do not know what those interests are. I am a line grunt, and an occasional Skirmish Commander. The only bias this affords me, in terms of a null sec bloc, is a hatred for million-hit point structures and a love of newbies in Rifters.

Election Season

The CSM election season is here, and Jita Park is full of hand-wringing publords unironically pontificating about space ethics and the sacred ideals of democracy. There’s a lot more interest in the CSM this year because CSM6 was the first Not Completely Horrible CSM, due in large part to Team Nullsec getting its **** together last March.

I’m the only GSF candidate this time; Vile Rat is sick of Iceland. We’re going to need a metric fuckload of votes to secure the Chairmanship and – ideally – an indisputable mandate. I’d like to see us be able to c&p a ridiculous vote total as a one-line reply to every shitbird eve-o poster whining about us for the next year.

We’re not going to **** with this election cycle by vilifying a particular candidate like we did last year with Trebor; feel free to **** up Jita Park freely and spread it around evenly. Most of the CSM6 vets besides Darius 3 are solid people we and CCP can work with; a lot of the newcomers aiming for a CSM7 seat are borderline re-tarded.

Just after that your posting style changes to crappy one liners all over the place. Independent? Rubbish. We'd have to be idiots to vote for you; which is to say you will definitely get some votes, one born every minute. You've got the perpetually scammed at Jita crowd all sewn up.

I grant you that he doesn't seem to support you or even acknowledge you as a candidate, but to me you look more like a tool to confuse the electorate. You hardly even seem to be trying to fake sincerity anymore.

If I am wrong and you honestly want to become an independent candidate, my advise is to become independent first. Establish a track record for that, and then maybe come back for CSM8.

You make some points which I will be happy to address.

First, my "posting style" changed to "one-liners" because I don't post much at all during certain days. This has to do with real life obligations that limit my forum-browsing and posting time, and has nothing at all to do with an edict from Dear Leader. On those days when I do not have much time to browse and post, I post less content and less frequently. You're welcome if you are so inclined to pore over my entire posting history and identify patterns of my average number of posts per day, words per post, and other assorted variables, and then to present them in a spreadsheet or perhaps a powerpoint presentation for the enjoyment of yourself and whomever else may deign to view it. I apologize if you found my posting anemic this weekend, as I usually am rather prolific over the weekends, but as you may be aware it was a holiday weekend in the United States and I was occupied by ~doin' thangs~ with my ~kickboxing girlfriend~ more than I was with my computer. This is no troll, no sarcasm, no spin. I sincerely thought that it would be better for me to post something, anything, than to just be quiet and not post at all. I will call your attention to the Supreme Internet Court case of Goon v. Pubbie, where the ruling to, and I quote, "Never stop posting," was decreed, as my justification for this perceived misstep. I promise to do it again.

Second, you cite an EN24 news article. This is not a post wherein I poke fun at Riverini, or wherein I mock anything to do with the EN24 commentary style. I merely wish to point out that your timeline is out of whack. According to you, I started with the terrible one-liners this past weekend or some time prior to that. The EN24 article you mention references a CEO Update that was posted to the Goonfleet forums literally yesterday. Let me emphasize that: in a broad divergence from their usual updates being about a week late for anything to do with Goons, EN24 published an article very quickly. It is literally impossible, unless you are alleging that I am some sort of time travelling Internet space wizard space wizard (in which case I would argue you have even more reason to vote for me), that I could have been influenced two or more days ago by something which did not exist until yesterday and which was not read by you until today.

Third, I believe that regardless of what you wish to say publicly on these forums that I have already established a track record on these forums as an independent candidate. I have been an active player and a terrible poster on these forums since 2008, and only in the past year have I been associated with Goonswarm in any way. During my time playing this game I have been an EVE University student, a high-sec miner, a low-sec pirate, a fighter in the Amarr militia, a high-sec can-flipper, a role player in the Intergalactic Summit and the associated in-game channel (The Summit), a resident of Providence under the auspices of the Curatores Veritatis Alliance role playing entity, and many other things. Most recently, I am a Rifter pilot in the Right Honourable Goonswarm Federation of Space Planets, the intrepid Sky Captain of Your Heart, and Space Friend to All.

Don't you think that's a bit of a missmatch though, I mean Skye is definatley much more intelligent. I'd see that as intellectual bullying. Blink

Confirming this, can you please pick a more fair candidate for me to debate? Perhaps Xenuria.

Funny, I personally noticed your style change yesterday:

Sorry if I missed other crappy posts that might lean toward exonerating you as a goon tool.

Irregardless, you wear the Goon badge. I don't hate you for it, but you have no credibility as an independent candidate. It is surprising that you are surprised by that.

Anybody who believes anything that ANY Goon says deserves the **** in the ass they get originating from gay bars in Iceland where the Goon's glorious leader whispers sweet nothings in to the ear of top level CCP employees.

No scandalous corruption happening with this CSM. /sarcasm

Right so Episode 37 went swimmingly - you really should listen throughout on this one as a lot of issues are addressed by Alekseyev Karrde and Mike Azariah during the podcast and not just the 1v1. Had tons of fun with this one!

Also, Episode 38 (the last 1v1!) will feature leboe from Stimulus and Blake Armitage from k162space.com

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!

For your listening pleasure, VftV will indeed be doing a special edition Cage Match featuring Seleene, Two Step, and Trebor - non-bloc incumbents that we feel everyone should really consider returning to Iceland.

Have questions for leboe, Blake, or any of the incumbents? Let me know here, via evemail, or on Twitter (@MarcScaurus).

Thanks for listening.
