I have never scammed anyone. I have never fallen for a scam either. I find reading about the exploits of scammers amusing, I find the defending of stupidity from the victims even more amusing. Please continue.

It just so happens that Video Gaming is one of our family hobbies, so even though money doesn't come easy, hobbies are still alotted for after the bills are paid.

At least space money comes easily if a goon hero took your dumb hubby for 17bn

I don't understand why, in a game famous for its dishonest player base, people are still shocked at routine scams like this.

I think some people get lazy, they get greedy and they slowly start to gamble more with their in-game relationships.

Until... WALLOP!

It's famous for its dishonest player base? Seriously. I wasn't aware of this, nor was my husband. Maybe we're playing the wrong game!!

So you spent 500$ into a game? Ok.. Still your "point" about this affecting your 3 children is moot, moneys already spent.. were they gonna eat that is isk if it wasn't stolen?

edit:

You are, as another recently enlightened person on the nature of eve kindly put it:

I see no proof really.Just a freighter convo. No one said "heh i got yo stuffs".No time stamps to cross-ref eve play times through eve-when website (not to be confused with eve-who) that has a database of the exact time any account by any said person logging on or off that is saved to a file on a 3.5 inch floppy server located right next to a volcano.

Nothing.

Not even a link to a pic of a group of people pointing and laughing at a guy in a white suit who just was splashed by a mountain clay mud puddle. More proof is needed.Until it is given i call this a slanderous piece of propaganda cobbled together to tarnish the goons good name.We live in an age where we can find anything out about anyone anytime. And prove it.Now you try.

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

I don't recall saying the scam directly affected our 3 children. I was just pointing out that Grirna has a family, and so he is limited as to the money he can spend on gaming, and having someone just swoop in, pretend to be friends, and offer to help you out, swindling you out of everything you just bought, is just wrong.

I don't know why this game is called 'Eve'.. they should change the name to 'Thieves'

The money he should spend on gaming is 15$ a month for the payment. ( now if you want to pay more that's your business and its all good, but don't complain if he's spending it on ingame assets which can, and apparently, will be stolen. Just because you bought the stuff with real money that doesn't make it ( in the thief's eyes ) any harder to steal. And just because you bought it with real money doesn't make it any more of a "crime" to steal it to anyone but you.. so don't start to make that a point in your argument. )

*facepalm*

Okay, let's break it down so far:

1) Didn't do research on game
2) Trusted a guy he just met
3) Bought PLEX to get extra ISK (I know this last one isn't as bad as 1 and 2 but I will never do it.)

You both should seriously consider moving to a different game where people are protected from scams. I have no sympathy for you, your husband, your hobby, or your rug rats. If gaming is going to be your family hobby, then you should invest a little more time researching the game you're going to play, and a little less grocery money until you've gotten slightly good at it.

This is me, laughing at you for bringing a cookie to Eve.

I don't know what's more pathetic: that you got caught in one of the most barefaced, connect-the-dot scams circulating in the game (this was NOT "the Brinks Job"), or that you're waving around the marks' age and family status as some sort of defense.

HURRR WE HAVE FAMILY AND KIDS DOES THAT NOT ENTITLE US TO MORE INSULATION AGAINST PAIN AND RISK THAN EVERYBODY ELSE?

No, it does not. What that does indicate is that you two should have friggin' known better. It makes your failure all the more risible.

I only hope you two aren't home-schooling.

That must make your husband extra stupid for falling for it! Does he wear velcro shoes and a helmet in public by any chance?

So let me sum this thread up if I can

1) You spent real money to play Eve Online: A Terrible Game in the first place (the first mistake)
2) You then spend hundreds and hundreds of real dollars to make fake spacemoney
3) Believe that a random person will randomly sell you high end moons
4) Give random person all $500 dollars of your spacemoney
5) Be shocked when you get nothing
6) Really, actually post that you have kids and one of them is adopted as your defence (by the way, $500 a year at 4 percent for 15 years is over ten thousand dollars to a college fund, so you're literally a bad parent for spending your money like this)
7) Post on forums about how the person taking your spacemoney has no ~honour~
8) Expect something other than expect mockery, scorn and laughter
9) Spit out pacifier and leave thread

After reading this thread I need a little time alone locked in the bathroom with some kleenex and a netbook because threads like this are the only reason I play this atrocious game

(Also I've got these speakers which the factory was overstocked on, I can sell them to you for the low low price of $1300 out of the back of my van, are you interested)
