Good day,

I'm a new player, I guess you can say. I played the trial back in October 2011 before Crucible came out, and due to some personal/financial concerns, had to stop playing before I could even make full use of the 21-day trial I received from my friend.

Things are better now, and so I paid the 20 dollars to buy the game and sub for a month, and I was hoping some folks here could help me out.

Due to my circumstances, it'd be safe to say that I'm not going to be a great candidate for a corp at present. I only garnered a little over 500,000 Skillpoints during my time in-game, and I have pretty much forgotten how to fly a ship and perform other controls related to the game.

I'm looking for a corp that plays during Oceanic or possibly EU time (Generally GMT+7 to GMT+10 afternoons and evenings for me as I live in the Philippines which is GMT+8) that would be willing to take on a fellow like me and reteach me the fundamentals of controls. I have definite plans for my time in game, which are to do planetary interaction (scanning for sites for mining and whatnot gives me a literal headache) and to make stuff like ammunition and eventually, ships. While I hesitate to do PVP due to fear of monetary loss, I am willing to participate in PVP endeavors once I master the controls and am able to get a ship and fit it accordingly.

I'm also looking to ask for tips from folks here regarding my plans and any ships and specific skills I should focus on doing first, given what I said above. If you can offer advice that can help me out, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Lastly, I was wondering if any of you are bloggers and would like to plug your links here for me to read and follow? I'm a writer myself (I write on GamesandGeekery.com) and I follow Seismic Stan of Freebooted and Rixx Javix's EVEOGANDA as well as their respective Twitter accounts, and I was hoping to get to know more bloggers from here who write EVE guides or blog entries regarding EVE.

Thank you for your time. :)

Edited to add: The Corp I'm in, Genovian Holdings, isn't particularly active, hence my looking for some place new. :)

You'd probably do well putting this into a thread on the Recruitment forum... https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=266

Only thing that's missing as far as a "snap me up" post is you don't mention how active you are likely to be. A new pilot who is keen and around a lot is very handy... a new pilot who shows up once a week, not so much.

Curiosity killed the Kata... ... but being immortal he wasn't too worried about keeping a count.

Hey

If you haven't done so already, I would highly recommend doing all the career agent tutorials. They should give you a general understanding of game controls and a quick overview of the different things to do in game and also give you a couple of ships to get started with. Afterwards I would suggest doing the Sisters of EVE epic arc. It will teach you some things about PvE, get you to fly around the universe for a bit and leave you with some decent ISK at the end.

Regarding corporations, as Kata said, you should probably have a look at the recruitment forum and possibly the in-game corp finder. We do recruit "young" players, but we're a PvP corp, probably not what you're looking for.

Maybe check EVE university, they are a well-known corp that trains new players.

If you have specific questions, feel free to talk to me in game – I might not know a lot (as in: anything) about PI, but I might be able to help out with other questions.
