I have a command center on a plasma world with an extractor, basic processor (precious metal) and a storage unit. My goal it to produce enriched uranium (eventually)

I have alot of noble metals "routed" to the processor but it has not left the extractor yet and arrived at the processor. Its been 8 hours? I have a 4 hour cycle time on the extractor.

Can someone give me a quick simple rundown on how to correctly operate a plantery mining setup?

Im a noob with 3-4 months in game.

Did you... start the cycle?

yes the cycle is started. i just reduced the extractor head radius to a 2 day run. the cylce time is 30 minutes. now the extractor has (2) 3000 unit items of noble metals saying "routed" to the processor.

Processor still says "waiting for material"

1) Go to the storage building (either a Launchpad or a Storage Facility), look at the routes tab, you should see:

a) some quantity of raw material arriving
b) 3000 raw material outgoing to the BIF
c) 20 P1 incoming from the BIF

2) Depending on which is missing from the routes on the storage building

a) If there's no inbound route for raw materials, then you forgot to route the stuff coming out of the ECU to the storage building.

b) If you don't see 3000 outbound to the BIF, then you should click on the inbound raw material and use "Create Route" and point some of that at the BIF(s).

c) If you don't see 20 P1 inbound from the BIF, then you need to go to the BIF and route the output back to the storage building.

Other things:

- Make sure the BIF is setup with the correct schematic.

- Never route from a ECU directly to the BIF, always route to storage first to allow for excess material to pile up rather then being wasted due to overflowing the BIFs input buffer.

Indeed. Route from the Extractor first to either storage or the Launchpad, THEN route to the Processors.

thanks for the direction. I will do this. Right now the value of the processed metals is less than the cost to boost it so for now im going to concentrate on mining the hell out of pyrox and building my skill base to get up to the battlecruiser level.

Ive been destroyed 3 times and podded twice.

Seems that those sleepers dont like people finding their systems and mining their high value asteroid fields

One last thought. It's possible your factory is set up on the wrong product. and it's won't accept your mined materials as an input.
