Overall, I think it was a very good trailer - although, that's just a personal 'feeling.'

If I were to be more objective in my assessment, I'd say that judging by the feedback it's receiving here, and on Youtube, it has completely failed to deliver.

I won't go very far into the reasons why I actually like it. Instead; here's what bugged me...

Most importantly of all - Botox brows... Sure, you briefly catch an eyebrow twitch, but overall, the actress fails to convey any tangible 'human' emotion, and therefore is very difficult to 'connect with' or 'relate to' - now, it could be argued that this is completely deliberate and is just part of the role she's playing, but if so, then in my personal opinion it's a big a mistake - almost as bad as when T0rfi decided that CQ environments should feel really 'cramped' and 'claustrophobic'; emotions which could be more simply described as - bloody annoying.

Although I was actually quite impressed by the voice acting in general, (kudos, if this is 'Aura' voice-actor) and an excellent opportunity to flash some snazzy FX - I definitely think it was a poor choice of medium - I'm really not a fan of these mixed media trailers. And I literally hated the "I was there," guy... "I was there" would have turned me away from the game for life, if I didn't already like it.

My next issue with it, is that towards the end, I became more and more aware that the audio seemed to be out of synch - which is not good...

Overall, I genuinely think that if the trailer had been 100% CGI, the response would have been correspondingly positive.

Please keep working on your avatar lip-synching tech CCP...

“Disorientated” is to disoriented what aluminium is to aluminum: properly enunciated.

The video is kind of meh — it's interesting to see them ground things more in the lore of the game, but the delivery is a bit wooden and unless you already know what it's telling you (and why), it's not really conveying its point all that clearly.

You know they've ****** up when I'm forced to compliment EA.

It's Westwood you're complimenting, not EA. But I agree with your sentiment, their live-action stuff was much much better.

Well actually you'll find that Westwood broke up when they got bought out by EA and the members that left formed Petroglyph games who then went on to make Star Wars Empire at War and Universe at War, so that means they'll have different people in charge or there will be less original members in EA because of the reputation EA has for screwing everyone over.

Anyway you get my point :p

LOL >_< :P Well at least you've been honest about not reading the post right in the first place, could be worse, like my thread about avoiding a ganker in 0.0, that flame war was just a bunch of people who don't seem to read anyones posts the majority of the time.

Wasn't bad. I was actually pretty impressed by how not-terrible the live acting was, because usually it's absolutely atrocious in this sort of thing.

Script was pretty bad though. A couple of the lines sounded very, very forced. And "disorientating"? Really? When so much of your player base is in North America, using a region-specific word like that is really... weird.

Hmmm I think her voice needs to be modulated a bit. Help tone down her harsh broken tone.

Next time make a video in a seedy pub of a low sec station while being pursued by pirates. That's more like EVE Online.

It's not a bad video, but its the worst trailer CCP has ever done imo. The woman was rather annoying, would have been nice for the pilot to punch her in the face at the end of the video..lol

Since when is "disorientating" a regional word?

I know there are plenty of places here where the vocab is restricted to "y'all" and "Corn" but still.

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg

The actress reminds me of Claudia Black. I can sort of imagine her calling out "Pilot!", though Claudia has a more aggressive sounding voice.

I am surprised that there hasn't been any discussion of the race of the woman. Looks Caldari to me, but I'm biased.

First CCP trailer I haven't watched multiple times. To be honest, I'm not even sure what its purpose was. Hopefully the product will be less boring better than this trailer.
