Gotta Love the Bots

Skip to the last paragraph if this gets too TL/DR.

One of the products I make had the market manipulated a day or 2 ago, and the prices spiked huge.
Good for me, since I am constantly selling in that market.

I got online today to see a very active, rapidly declining market.
Makes sense, since margins are still far above average for this item.

Since I had a free afternoon, and felt too lazy to do much else, I played my human version of market robot where I thew out multiple sell orders, very small quantities, and updated my orders as soon as possible, manually.

I had to have multiple orders out there in order to keep up with the bots, unless there were multiple people doing precisely the same thing as me.
Bottom line, lowest sell order were getting updated every 20-30 seconds in the market.

I finally sold everything until I had one item left from the last order.
Market price was around 637,000, for almost 1000 units.
Next order was .02 ISK higher, next order .04, then .01 higher.
Pretty standard fare with the bots.

So I go, what the heck, put up my last item at 600,000 , see if someone scoops my order for a solitary unit.

Nope.
Bot trumps my order for 260 units 60 seconds later by .01 ISK.
Now the are multiple orders under mine, as the bot herd and the human sellers alike have trumped each other.

I am now torn whether I should accelerate the trashing of my own market and repeg my lone unit at some dumb price and watch the bots finish off the market, or play nice since I will have more to sell into that market soon.

Take it down as far as you can and just stockpile your manufactures goods until it goes back up. Perhaps the harder you push it down now, the higher up it will bounce?

Of course, that all depends on if the buyers are using it up or relisting it for more. Worth it to find out, I say.

Edit: Bot abuse is always a good thing. That alone may enough reason to do it.
