After my other thread made me mad, I watched Eve videos online to reaffirm my faith.

Best 5 minutes and 51 seconds of my life

This is old as hell I know, but I feel that in the end, this is what Eve Online is all about.

What do you think the game is "about" in your opinion?

I love War in EVE. It is Asymmetric and full of dirty tricks of all sorts. It isn't fair or regulated and doesn't have a pause or reset button. It can begin and end for any reason or escalate to massive proportions.

It isn't Alliance vs Hoard Fake story-Line Wars no one ever wins. What you do matters and trust and betrayal can earn or cost you everything. Thousands of Warships out their slugging it out.

Amazing.

Stuff like RAINBOWFLEET, and moments like the Battle of Mittanigrad or the Battle of DKUK (I was one of the initial 45-odd first responders who started fighting 150 odd Raiden, it seemed hopeless until the situation kept escalating and escalating on both sides, only to end with minimal losses and a field full of wrecks). I love fighting a superior force and kicking them right in the ass.

Same, except my fighting a superior force usually ends in a horrible death for me and all my allies.

Never gets boring :D *Puts on sunglasses*

Alot of this.Meeting and getting to know lots of cool people, then shooting them.

Also just the sheer variety of things to do in this game. I feel like getting a buncha friends together and finding something to shoot, I can do that. Not feeling social? Go run some missions or anomalies, or explore. Don't feel like making :effort:? Mining is pretty low maintenance. Wanderlust? Grab a covops and fly to a region you've never been to and pick on the locals. Good at spreadsheets? Build some stuff and kill them on the market. Or do them all in one night! That's why I'm still playing this game, and probably will be for a long time to come.

The game is about preparing for the end of days. It gets a person into the mindset that they can only truly depend on themselves when society as a whole collapses due to hyper-inflation / solar flares / incurable H1N1 plagues.

Setting traps in game is just practice for setting traps in RL as your using social engineering and overwhelming force to take down your target.

I plan on turning the tactic that I use in game of orbiting a slow and fat ship at 18km and hitting at distance into circling a large, round man 18 feet away and hitting him with a long pole until he falls down and I can take the spoils, which will probably consist of ju-ju bees and snickers bars.

Hoarding minerals, ships, modules is just like hoarding food / guns / toilet paper in RL. You can never have enough!

It is survival and I have no fear....

When it comes to PvP, I am like a chiwawa hanging from a grizzley bears pair of wrinklies for dear life.

No. What is important is being able to customize the appearance of our avatars with space accessories.

hah. even if H1N1 were incurable, it still only hits about as hard as a bad flu. for me it didn't even phase me enough to stop going to school.

as to eve. to have fun. be it through making people weep as you break the market, or mock the defences of the rats/players. or mining till your eyes bleed. basically doing anything you want within the programmed possibilities of the game.

I think you have the wrong disease. I get my information from the CNN 24 Hour News Cycle and they made it quite clear that H1N1 will wipe out half the world pop, eat my children and **** my wife. They were very clear on that last one and said that I should panic about this as well as stock pile food for the waste land that will be left in a post H1N1 World.

These are News Professionals and I trust them implicitly.

Sounds about right.

Alliance A has space, alliance B wants it. Call in buddy alliance C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M. Finaly alliance A loses and gets booted.

Wonder why it's all Evac now?

The battle scenes were cool but serious, did you look at the list it took to bring them down?
