How effective is one ECCM Module at keeping a pilot from being scanned down in a plex?

How much time, if any, can a pilot expect before someone can scan him down?

thanks.

It depends on your ship and the rest of your fit and your skills. It'll also depend on the prober's ship, fit, and skills (both in-game and RL). A T2 ECCM will give you 96% bonus sensor strength. How much that helps will depend on many factors.

Hmm... ok,

How about a Pilgrim, equipped for exploration? Pilot with at least lvl IV in all relevant skills.

Everything else being equal, how much time will having one T2 ECCM module on the Pilgrim give the pilot before another pilot can probe him down to a warpable target, compared to the time it would take without the ECCM module?

does anyone have any experience, as pilot or as prober, about the value of an ECCM module under these circumstances?

Depends what you fly, its sensor strength in relation to sig radius.

As soon as you drop drones the ECCM is pointless as IIRC it's the five drone sigs they'll find.

No matter what you do you will be found. Drone boats have never been able to be hard to find (or unprobable when it was allowed). Your drone mwd blooms give you away. At some point if you get your strength/radius ratio low enough....a prober with some skill will find your drones and then you.

Your hard to find pro ships are high slot based damage dealers with little to no reliance on drones. Whatever mods you do to make your ship ninjya style do not carry over to drones and their mwd.

But if you want to try for giggles, I'd run 1 eccm and 1 sensor bakup array. If you are trying to lay low, why half ass it. Plus this splits the mods between 2 mount points to not mess your fit up too much hopefully. Just remember to call those drones home quick with neuts in local.

If it's a public plex (not an escalation) it would be useless, since one could just scan down the plex.

Thanks. The information about drones is new to me, and exactly what I needed to know

Since ships are easier to scan than the PLEX, that's probably what he's asking about.

Secondly: T3s are the easiest to make "probe difficult" because of their low sig radius and high natural scan (ECCM stuff) strength.
