Keep it up m8!! Good first vid, I made the same mistake on playback speed my first time around to, 2x speed that stuff makes for a better vid and you can get more fights in to.

ECM.... It's been said I wont say it again just Evil

I've uploaded a new version of The Molden Heathen in which I decided to cut out the footage that wasn't truly worth sharing.

If you watched it but stopped in the middle, give it another shot, will you?

Also, the pace is rather slow compared to your standard EVE videos. I don't have a lot of footage and I didn't want the vide to be 4 minutes long, thus the fights are running at 140% speed. You can enjoy the music now! Plus some new (newer than me, that is) pilots might learn a thing or two from it (maaaybeee).

The link is in the first post...

Is anything in eve fair? You wet into a fight prepared you won.. GJ. If you really that concerned about fair then you bunch of hypocrites would first check skills, fits and blob sizes before you engaged, and am sure that doesn't happen.

He's free to do what he likes in-game, it doesn't make for an interesting video though, and since I know he uses cheap/boring tactics I won't bother engaging him in-game.

If you put it that way, suddenly I feel like I should quit, because flying rifters with common cookie cutter fits is boring and full of cheap tactics...

Since youre 04/10 char (year and few months older than me), I bet you had always lots of success in the begining and you didn't need to come up with fits that would overcome the lack of skill(points).

I agree it wasn't worth it to put it in the video, but it would take just one look at KBs to see that I flown the ECM fit for, like, a day? Why would claim that I use cheap tactics now?

Big props for editing the video.

It's a real learning process, figuring out what footage is interesting and engaging to watch and which isn't. My first video had a few fights that really should've been left out, and even my second had 1 or 2 that were pretty below-par compared to the rest of the video and I realised later I should've just cut them.

The problem is that our personal memory of a specific fight can be incredibly different to how others perceive it when they see the footage. I'm sure that those ecm fights were very adrenaline pumping for you (they were pretty close), but for those watching, it is pretty meh, because like i stated earlier, ecm turns things into a roll of the dice and ruins the feeling that what we are watching is a contest of skill.

So basically my message is not to get disheartened by all the hate over it, nobody's first video is perfect (and a lot of peoples first videos aren't as high quality as yours). You've obviously accepted the criticism with grace and learnt from it. So I hope to see another video from you in the future :)

Endragor, I don't particularly mean to be rude, but I mostly associate ECM use with cowards (for anything else but breaking locks to escape). Many think the same. It's chance based, which removes any talk of skill from the discussion but even worse, in a 1v1 situation it's night on going to work in your favour. When the 'chance' is something like 90% success rate, and the effect is 'cannot lock and apply any DPS or tackle', then it's just pointless unless I undock SPECIFICALLY fit to counter you, which puts me at an extreme disadvantage against other setups.

The end result is, if I know you are the type of person to use ECM and I am out soloing, I'm not going to waste my time or my ship on a dice-roll mechanic that is heavily in your favour.

This doesn't mean you shouldn't use it of course, but don't expect people to appreciate it!

I know talking about 'HONOUR' is often laughed at but there is also such a thing as manliness :P

It's a good video. If you didn't like the ECM, hit fast forward, or DL the version without that type of EWAR.

Props man, please keep it up!

You're right too, it's not manly to use ECM in 1v1, point is - skill and experience wise - I wasn't a man when I started frigate PVP, I was a kid. It's entirely up to you to make assumptions, but don't think you know me... Blink
