Maybe because I am still a fairly new player in eve terms (almost 6 months old) but I really don't get why so many players are complaining about CCP for the most silliest things.

Come one... Ship spinning? If you like it that much, go to the damn fitting screen lol. Be glad that CCP employees are so open against the community and are even looking for a way to give you ship spinning back. Allot of other developers could learn from that.

Haters gonna hate now.
It has never been about ship spinning per se, but rather everything it encompasses. The functionality that came with the hanger and the option (hopefully) to choose when to disembark.

*Waits for the next person to claim it's about old PC's or simply ship spinning and laughs about it. Roll*

As predicted, this has now become another useless incarna thread, luckily I could get some kind of answer from CCP before the spam crew checked in.

Seeing as I've been trying to pull my pants up lately, and start being active on the forums again, I might as well try and be useful as well rather than just attempting to be funny (Also Sentinella poked me through EVE Mail... ok it was mostly that Blink). Please keep in mind that I'm a Database Developer not a Project Manager. But I did go around and poke some people who wield more power than just telling people off because their queries aren't seekable.

Essentially what this all boils down to is: "You will get ship-spinning back. It's only a question of fitting it into our plans.".
I know, I didn't tell you anything new. Cry

But believe me, the people I spoke to seemed to understand the priority of this. They themselves will give you more concrete information as soon as they can, we all understand that the answer I just gave you isn't satisfactory, but it is the best I can give you.

The reason for this being the best I can provide is that we are currently in the middle of a planning phase. Everything is up in the air and mutable at this point so promises aren't a current possibility. All I can really do is assure you that we're not ignoring the issue nor do we intend to bury it and hopefully the final plans will start to emerge soon and we can actually give you some insight into them.

Also, I'm selling T2 Rock blueprints over in Ami. They're great for throwing back at me! Blink

P.S. Ignore my signature in this case. I'm actually trying to be helpful and informative.

Thank you for that information it is good to hear that we will eventually be getting ship spinning back. :) I actually never thought I would miss it that much but I do as it is so much better than staring at the door. :(

One of my main grievances has been that CCP have not answered the questions put to them on the forum and not always been forthcoming with answers/information it is nice to see an answer and that you intend to be more active on the forum. I know it takes time to reply to posts and try and answer some of the questions the Eve community put to you but I think if there was more of this there would be less of us lot moaning and complaining. No answers often spark speculation which is not always a good thing.

Anyway it was your post that prompted me to make my first post on the new forum. (Have a like for taking the time to reply)

‘No, this isn't it at all. Make it more... psssshhhh’.

Has for some of us, actually. The rest of your points are still the main thing, but some people do want the actual spinning back.

I really hope they don't bring ship spinning back, it's a useless part of the hangar view, now that we have CQ it's no longer warranted. Satisfy your needs by spinning your ship in the fitting window. CCP chose to walk down the path of immerse environments for your capsuleer to interact with, they need to stick to that path if they want Incarna to be successful.

It is NOT immersion to leave your pod every time you dock. That is killing immersion for those of us who actually care about it.

The return of ship spinning is probably more highly anticipated than the upcoming supercap nerf. After all 99% of time in EVE is spent ship spinning in one form or another.

I care about immersion, and I do not think the present system breaks it.

When you get in your pod nanites quickly disassemble your clothes and store them in the pod. The pod is filled and you are “plugged in”. While this happens your pod flies from the balcony to your ship, and your ship undocks.

Upon docking the pod is drained and you are cleaned and dried by nanites. Your stored clothing is then reassembled on your body by the nanites. In seconds you are ready to step out of the pod and onto the balcony.

If you are podded a scan of your mind and a scan of the disassembled clothing is transmitted to your cloning station. You mind scan is loaded into your clone, and your clothing is reconstructed upon it.

This technology has its limitations. The clothing scan, like that of your mind, is destructive. Also like a single use BPC, only one replacement item can be made from the scan. In addition the Joves who supplied this technology are unwilling or unable to extend it to any other part of the ship other than the pod.

Yes anyone can do that, but unfortunately there's a lot more than "scraps of info supplied by the Devs", there's actually a whole bunch of fairly detailed lore, with which casual decanting every time you dock is contradictory.

CCP could alter the lore to suit the new changes ("Stop press: amazing new technological breakthrough allows capsuleers to decant from their pods at the drop of a hat!"), but until that's done, or until we get a system where decanting is an option, the current system is jarring to those of us who have been immersed in the game while following the lore.

CCP should either:

1) Have CQ as an option off of Hangar, as was promised; or

2) Change the lore to suit casual decanting.

Doing neither of these things is resulting in a drip feed of annoyance to the game's Explorers.

Incarnia is good, it brought alot of fresh new people, because I've seen a lot of my friends quitting the game because they didn't had any "real" interaction with other players (and thats kind true), now you can have both sides happy, if you don't like Incarnia just stay still in your CQ's.

When the full Incarnia comes all the people that wanted to see avatares and interact with other players, well... Will x)

you are aware that ATI/AMD have always been superior in the thermal management department right? and have been superior performance for more than half of the time.

nvidia just has better marketing.

Tedium and difficulty are not the same thing, if you don't realize this then STFU about game design.

I'm aware that in the many years I've been building PCs, the most issues I ever have are with ATi (now AMD) cards. So as good as they supposedly are, the hassles I've had make me steer away from using them.

So they may have superior performance for more than half the time, the trouble is that the rest of it, they just crash your system and won't work properly.

I do have a soft spot in my heart for ATi and AMD and I hope that they pull their bloody finger out at some point soon.

Prisim X,

I'm a very optimistic person, I rarely say "bad things", however I can say with ease that the frustrations of the pilots are not being met and there's about to be another uproar if things like the hangar view with all of it's functionality isn't implemented with haste.

I want to make VERY clear that "ship spinning" is a term used to sum up that people want the functionality of the old hangar, NOT just the nostalgic spinning of the ship.

You've forced us to looking at a door. The game doesn't work if you have multiple clients unless your computer is the latest and greatest tech on the market.

You'll hear frequently "I've got 3 clients running great with max rez etc..." These people have over 1k of graphics cards in their computer.

The average player's computers are cooking. I've got a 295 GTX that literally cooks eggs now. No lie, the temp is high enough to boil an egg. This temp is not reached in any other game. The latest Crisis engine does not strain my computer nearly as much as CQ does.

This needs to be fixed, FAST. The attitude from CCP that "we'll get to it" will quickly tick people off who don't have $1k in graphics cards in their computer and want functionality back.

I only run a GTS 8800 (2gig) card in my system and two clients run just fine on that, so it isn't the card...I really suspect it is your graphics settings.

Try changing the "PRESENT INTERVAL" to "Interval One". For me, this has made a huge difference on the fan speeds and how hot it runs.
DX 10 cards > have heat issues with CQ, known issue, waiting on fix. This was supposed to be fixed already yet it hasn't.

The current work around is to have a 3rd party fan control program that jacks your fan speeds up earlier than factory default. I didn't have the heat issues with my 9800 GT (identical card to yours just refactored) but there's a huge performance difference between the 9800 GT and the 295 GTX.

I know about forcing frame rates FYI. The best way to do this is via the driver CP by turning on "vsynch".

i have a dx10 card and no problem. it's not eve's fault that you bought poorly designed hammered ****. it's been known in the industry for more than a decade that nvidia cards have thermal issues.
I bolded and underlined the important part of my initial post.

EVE is the only game that heats my card up above 75C. I get that the tolerance level of the card will allow for temps > 90, but EVE is the only one of all the games I play (Unreal 3 engine, crysis 2 engine,Starcraft w/maxed settings) that heats up my graphics card. It's not Nvidia and there's a sticky in this section of the forums asking if people are having heat issues.

It only happens with CQ running, EVE is not playable with 3 clients 2 idle + CQ running. My temps go up to 85C and framerates drop below 20fps while the game begins to become unresponsive after long periods. I installed some 3rd party fan software that kicks my fan speeds up earlier. Basically, stock your fan only spins at 50% its capability, when it heats up, the fan goes faster, well, I have my fan start at 70 when my GPU surpasses 68C then jump to 90% @ 75. However, this is very loud. I've upgraded my stock cooling and insured that I have proper ventilation for my computer.

EVE is unique in that it's one of the very few games out there where multiple clients.

I used to run 6-7 clients when we had the old station environment.

The retort "upgrade your ****" when I've got a year and a half old $400 graphics card that works perfectly fine with any other game on the market is not the proper response CCP should take on this. Especially for a game that REQUIRES alts to play.
