EVE Mon: API issues

I have to enter APIs of incoming recruits into EVE Mon. But they all seem to fail. I am told that this is a legacy issue and to tell recruits to just delete their old APIs but it still doesn't seem to work. Thoughts?

Try using CAK's or follow the instructions EVEMon gives.
