Salt ...why is it bad again?

I had HIGH BP issues several few years back, plenty of factors - poor diet, obese ... as for salt, yes I watched my intake, believing into mainstream theory about it.

Fast forward to today (actually about 1-2 years back), my BP issues disappeared (falling to within the normal range) and my weight is normal (6'2"/75kg).
So what changed?
My diet. I eliminated 99% modern processed food and sugars and stuck to fresh/whole foods.

Back to salt, I couldn't care less. I heaped at least a tablespoon of sea salt a day.
As far as my body's telling me, the mainstream belief that salt contributes to hypertension is a total quackjob.

Salt causes high blood pressure and can lead to heart disease, but unless you are actively eating salt then you are unlikely to have any problems unless you already have an underlying condition or just eat terribly.

The belief that sea salt is "better" for you then regular salt is false, it tastes better for some but the health consequences are the same.

People are now acting against high salt intake because the majority of people are simply unaware of how much they are taking in. They already consume too much from the processed foods they eat, and generally will add more table salt to their food as well.

Don't forget that the people that are fat tend to have poor eating habits, so their obesity combined with high salt intake just compounds their problems.
