Game crashes on entering world / New character creation

Hey,

Wanted to give this game another go, so I opted in for the special offer and downloaded the client. Upon entering the game with my main character, the picture froze and I waited a bit. Realizing I wasn't going anywhere, I tabbed out only to find a Windows crash prompt.

"CCP ExeFile has stopped working

Application Name: ExeFile.exe
Fault Module Name: _GameWorld.dll"

Exactly the same when you go to character creation, select faction and then it spins for a second, then the image freezes.

I tried running the repair to no avail.

Could someone shed some light on this?

Thanks.

I have a buddy who is having the same 'exact' issue... was really looking forward to playing eve with him, but he's not one to patiently wait for a fix, will probably uninstall soon :(

Found a solution.

Looked through the other thread and people were talking about a PhysX problem. It could be temporarily solved by disabling 'Load Station Environment' in the options menu. I tried that but it didn't work, so I figured my problem was elsewhere as nobody reported the same error as me.

As a last resort, I tried to uninstall the PhysX software specifically ( They are separate from the Nvidia drivers in Program & Features / Add-Remove ). As soon as I had those uninstalled, the game works perfectly now.

So I guess that was the solution :)

Hey, thanks for the workaround. I am experiencing the same problem and tried both reinstalling the game and switching around driver versions.

I hope this issue will be resolved soon :/

Update: It works, I am able to login after deinstalling the NVIDIA PhysX System Software 9.11.1111.
