Looking for a Corp

background
So I never initially intended to play this game. I started playing with my family, but as life would have it, we found ourselves slowly drifting apart. We couldn't keep playing the same game, so I would just sub in to train skills. I'll share my life story later if anyone is interested.

experienceandinformation
Handle: Suncross (I know I'll end up being called Yil anyways)
Real name: Jon
Time Zone: Us East & Canada -5:00*
Character: 5.4m SP / d.o.b. 2006.11.23 / Caldari - Civire - Mercs
Employment history: Carrier has Arrived (family and friends corp. It's closed), then Procellum Militis Veneratio. They are still open, but this was the corp that my friends invited me into when we all decided to play one year. Other than the default corp, that is it.

Experience: Close to total noob. I mean I could use a week or so to brush up on everything, but don't expect me to know any secrets. The only intricate thing I know how to do is find wormholes. I also know about APIs, battleclinic and evemon.

*I work night shift, and am off on the weekends. This means that when I play, it will be around 2 p.m aussie time to 2 am aussie time (that's 10:00 P.M. - 10:00 A.M. eastern). This doesn't necessarily mean I won't join certain corporations, but I am just trying to give times that I am active. I mean if I join a corp where I would never really be playing when they were on, then what's really the point? I suppose the whole timing thing could be worked out, but night shift really rapes my life.

whatiamlookingfor
Nothing really special. I want a corp that is more focused on PvP, and getting ready for PvP. I am putty for molding. I want a corp that is active. I suppose it's rather selfish of me, but I have played enough games to know that a 10 man rag tag team of inactive misfits is a recipe for me leaving the game again. This in turn opens me up to the zergs, and to be future cannon fodder. I guess I am fine with that.

-This corporation should have a VoiP other than teamspeak. Teamspeak is awesome. It works on linux. However it sounds like ass, and I prefer ventrilo, mumble or even skype. English speaking. I work with a bunch of old school jamaicans all day, and nobody has any idea what the other is saying, and it is inherently frustrating.

-Internet cultured. I don't want to have to shave my beard, throw on my sunday clothes and give you my CV. Registering on corporation forums is all good and well, but if there are authentication tickets, e-mailing applications, phone calls, spread my cheeks and lift my sack, I wont even bother. By internet cultured, I mean to not take this game (which it is a game) too seriously. In full loot games, I realize how easy it is to get spies in your corporation. No matter how full proof your background and urine samples are, you're never going to prevent a spy from getting in your corp.

If anyone has gotten this far, my hat is off to you. In my experience, a nice concise template for an open application is the key, but a lengthy one which gives insight into character and humor is equally effective.

You sound great, and you're just the kind of pilot I look for (new but wants to learn and fight) but unfortunately we run an alliance level TS.
Still, if our using teamspeak isn't too abhorrent, you may still want to look into us. Because other than that, we're pretty much what you seem to be looking for. And I don't think our TS sounds THAT bad! Also, we have access to TEST mumble, so you can always hang out there.
I mean, like I said, we love new pilots. Teaching them how to PvP and have a good time.
We don't have some horribly invasive application process...in fact, we don't have a process beyond me asking if you want to shoot things, and you applying. We're pretty damned open.
We're active, with generally 6+ players online, and another 20+ in the alliance. Basically, you can almost always get something going, if there isn't already something happening.
Anyways, if you'd like to check us out further, shoot me a message, or a convo request, or join our public channel, "Ex Novis Rebus, Om."

The Glorious Revolution is a great (awful) corp, and you should (not) join today, comrade!

I own a Vent server but we mostly use the alliance TS due to ease of transitioning fleets during roams and hot drops etc. We are worth a look though. My number 2 director is in Canada if that is of any help Cool

Hey there. I read your recruitment thread, and it looks like I really wont be a good fit. This next particular line is a flag for me

"This however is a playstyle that some don't like, and many think that its directors/CEO's "job" to make sure that you have something something to do. I can say right away that if you have this mindset, you will not be interested in joining this corp."

I don't think that the CEO has to micro-manage daily affairs, but I am mainly looking to get into a corporation that has things scheduled that I can fall into, or has many jobs available that I can pick up and do. If I sit back and research the heck out of this game, I might be able to run some mining operations, or some pvp ops, but I would rather just be a pawn and learn by experience. It doesn't matter how much one can research, for learning on the job and through experiencing it gives one better knowledge. Suffice it to say, to be a good leader, one needs to be a good follower first.

Maybe this can give people more insight as to what I am looking for.
