Apologies if there is an existing thread with the question but I have a ton of stuff split between different alts, in different stations and I need to consolidate.

Selling in the market is definitely an option but for some items it might be preferable to recycle and sell the minerals the items are made of. Is there an application available that, on an item by item basis, tells you whether it best to recycle or trade?

It'd be even better if it used the API key to pull the asset list of the system and automatically do the calculation but...if the application cannot, I'll live with that.

Also, EMMA is allegedly being re-released very soon with updates for Crucible, and it does what you are asking for and much more. It's what I always used when I was actively melting and selling loot before.

There is also an online calculator, but you have no control over the freshness or source of the pricing data with that one. I haven't used it, but it does work according to the posters in the thread. I don't remember the name offhand and don't have a link handy for that one.

These get overlooked fairly often because they usually post their announcements in the Missions and Complexes forum rather than here in S&I.

You can't just run something off in excel that'll do it when you plug the numbers in?
You can even make it so it lights up red or green when it's worth scrapping.

Alternatively, adopt a policy like mine. If it's over 100K on buy orders, I sell it off quick. If I have a load, I'll sell it on a sell order. If it;s NOT over 100k, I'll just scrap it and keep the minerals for manufacturing or sale in bulk.
If it's USEFUL, like a meta MWD or AB, or tackling gear, I squirrel it away in a can for throwing together a cheapass pvp frig later.
Or donate them to the alliance when I get up to enough that I'm never gonna use them. SOMEONE will make use of them.
