Probe scanning improvements

Greetings,

I am a PVE junkie and besides doing missions I like to do probe scanning from time to time as you can sometimes salvage/loot some really nice stuff. The thing is though that after an hour of scanning and warping to locations I usually am annoyed and frustrated so much that I go Alt F4 out of EVE.

9 out of 10 times with scanning and spending 10 minutes of pinpointing a location and warping to the location I get there to only find a frikkin gate that I can't go through. I especially go to .5 systems in the hope my BS or BC can go through, but it rarely happens. So after an hour of scanning locations that I can't enter I am pissed enough to log out and play an other game instead of EVE.

Is there not a way for CCP to make the scanning more friendly with a filter that only scans locations your ship can access? Or make the gates accessible to all ships and set the npc difficulty dynamic so that the hardness of the location automatically adjusts to your ship type? I am basically forced to fly a cruiser or a frig if I want to probe even in a .5 system.

It would be great if CCP put some thought into this to make it less frustrating and a waste of time.

Get implants, or take the scanning skills to level 5 (or fly a ship designed for this purpose) this thread comes up every few days, and they are all terrible ideas, terrible whines, written by terrible players.

HTFU.

If you don't have any real input then f* out of this thread.
My scanning skills are almost maxed. I have a point when I say that it is to restricted and limited that you can't even enter a gate in a BC in a .5 system. And as this topic apparently comes up that much then CCP has an extra reason to look in to this.

If scanning is so broken, then why can I and many other players scan down just about anything in under a minute? The problem isn't with scanning on a whole (although the UI can be awkward at times) its usually with the user, instead of whining here for fixes (if its under review by CCP why are you trying to threadnaught it?) why not watch some videos and read some tutorials to better your technique?

I also have no idea what your on about in regards to battlecruisers jumping into .5 systems, I have never had an issue, and travel frequently all over the damn place; please take a step back, take a deep breath, and correlate your thoughts before anger posting. It makes the community a better place for everyone and helps people understand your question/concerns.

In the mean time, New Citizens Q&A is that way ---->

Your issue isn't that the system is messed up at all, your issue is that you don't understand the fundamental concepts of exploration. Please go spend an hour reading some wiki pages about exploration and learn the first thing about it before complaining that it's 'broken'.

@Xolve, I'll bet by the BC comment that he means that he's upset he can't get into a Hideout or 3/10 or something like that with his BC. Which, again, is an issue of his lack of a fundamental understanding of exploration, not an issue with exploring itself.

I think he's trying to run those newbie anomalies etc. in his battlecruiser, but most only let frigate hulls through.

But yeah, this should probably be posted as a question not a feature request, and be placed in the help section.

Scanning in a Battlecruiser?

Who hates themselves that much?

My point is that I 90% of the time warp to those locations cos you can't tell or filter the difficulty. I want the difficult ones that needs a BC or BS and has a big loot, mostly I get it those "newbie anomalies".

Then learn the names of the sites like everyone else does, it's really not that hard. There are certain sites with restrictions in what ships can get in them, the names of said sites are known and well-documented online. If you can't be bothered to actually open your eyes and read the name of the site before you warp to it, then stop whining and go do something else.

Go to lowsec, find better sites.

It takes me about 2 minutes to find even the hardest sites starting from absolutely nothing in either a cov ops or a t3 with the probing subsystem. My probing skills are completely average (both SP and player skill). I don't have any probing implants either. You're doing it wrong somehow. Also, I was under the impression the gated sites in high sec were all restricted to frigate hulls. So you should probably be running around in some sort of frigate anyways.
