Kelduum Revaan—

You are hereby challenged to a series of seven Lincoln-Douglas styled debates, which I believe should be publicized as widely as is permissible on these boards and upon all other public channels. I should like to engage you on a live podcast in a series of topics upon which I am certain we can read a concordance. I have no intention for "trolling," for officialese language, or for anything more than a "realtalk" session in which you and I may present our divergent and perhaps concurrent opinions on "the issues," and thereby make for ourselves each a better campaign platform.

It is my honest belief that it is in both of our better interests that you agree to these debates, for the following reasons: first, I am (not even joking) an accomplished orator and thereby I believe that I am capable of thoroughly trouncing you in a public venue; second, in the event that I do not serve you immediate comeuppance, just the fact that we are both willing to talk for a while, slang some words and make a lot of publicized noise will garner us each greater name recognition than we already have; and, third, it is my belief that these debates will allow for us each to dispel the notion held in the public eye by certain naysayers that we each are clueless infants toddling into the political arena with no idea what we stand for other than some pandering an unfocused optimism.

And so the gauntlet is thrown, sir. I eagerly await your response.

Well Kelduum accept the challenge?

I don't think so. He might be put on the stand on issues, he doesn't like that. He wants to run on no issues and just the fact that he is the CEO of EvE-U.

Let facts decide who you for!

I believe that Kelduum would like to dispel that myth, as I am myself eager to be free of the accusation that I am running on a campaign of space likes and Internet forum popularity.

This is an awesome idea Lyris, and from knowing you personally, I think you would trounce anyone in a debate.

This is a terrible idea. I don't want to know what the candidate's "stance" on something is. I want to know what they're knowledgeable about. I can have a stance on nullsec sov mechanics and never spent a day there. It means nothing. I am more interested in Kelduum's credentials, and as CEO of E-UNI I think he has a good grasp of the game's concepts, but I'd like to know what areas he fancies himself a specialist in.

That is a fair point; however, I believe that there will be ample opportunity to see both in a live debate.

I also want to see if the candidates can work with each other, since multiples of them are going to be elected, the darn better be able to work with each other.

I served in the US military, so I am confident in my ability to tolerate and work with people even if I do not like them.

I see no reason, at all, ever, why personal grievances should, or should be allowed to, interfere with someone's work.

Huxley asserts that too much information makes all information unattractive.

yes have an e-uni guy moderate the debate.... why not ask goons to moderate it?

But i guess this wont happen cause Kelduum is afraid of making his position on issues publicly known. He wants to run as "the other guy" and give you "change". Does he even channel "yes we can" on the eve-u voice?

would be interesting to hear a live debate (eve-radio maybe?) about whatever points you're raising... get the feeling that otherwise all we'll get is wall of text...

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Is any other candidate getting grilled like this? or is it just a hate on for kelduum cause it's fun to jump on the poetic schnitzel bandwagon?

A debate I think is a very good idea. But then I'd like to see the other highsec candidates involved as well.. So you can compare their responses.

I honestly don't know what you're saying about him being "grilled," when this is the first I've spoken of it.

I am an alumni of EVE University, and I believe that a debate with Kelduum with regards to the issues would be good.

Sorry if somehow I have stumbled into some sort of conspiracy.
