To be exact actually google has "static" horizontal link bar on top of the page with direct links to most of their used sites and more button for their less used sites. The link bar contains also the login functionality and user settings. The buttons open the sites to new window/tab as they are totally different sites.

The concept is clear and works very well. It also has very little to do with eve online as it is google and doesn't have spaceships.

Have you seen the new one ? It is implemented slowly, had it a few days, but it went away, and it is a drop down.

Dunno why you want mix google to this topic, but as you started... what would happen to google if they stuffed 90 percent of their front page with advertisements and hided the search engine to some corner under some dropdown menu? Would people keep using it and cheer for the new improved design?


If Eveonline was a website made in the 90s, would people still use it ?
I love how you try to exaggerate to prove your point.

Also, I am a Google fan, and a web developer of some sort, and I try to design my stuff when I bother working on it the same way than the websites that most of people use, which Google products are.

Don't mind me tho, Google fanboy.

The websites area great, navigation between them is simple, and you're all ******* terrible at website design/development. The picture in the OP post made me want to vomit, what a horrible mess of sh!t.

This is obviously just a dirty copy paste from current content and the colors, items, logos, links on bars, pictures and graphics should be totally ignored. I made this just to provide simple visual presentation of easy to access layout which is easy to get used to and easy to maintain. It works as a 1 site and front page can be what ever you want to put there. It supports single login for all pages feature and header bar can contain all the java bling you might want to add. Header link bar has room for all the items now in "websites"-dropdown and for more. Left column has direct links to pretty much everything what may be needed and it is always there.

After this you could add visual preferences to entire site to faction backgrounds and other stuff. Only 1 preference page would be needed to tune everything making users life even easier than he could think of.

But obviously this is bit late now, because the train went past the station with the plans months ago...
