Obviously not, but thank you captain obvious.

Your failure to consider discussing a well-presented idea with hard work behind it is duly noted.

Nice initiative this post :)

Stabber/fleet stabber/Vagabond are my fave hulls. I'd love to be able to paint it a mahogany red with darker red stippling. Similar to the caladri navy style.

Done, I like the idea of ship skins. But not for Aurum unless you can directly mine the aurum of a destroyed ship skin with salvagers Pirate.

Ship skins should be created by the player and/or directly linked to factions and standings.

If they actually went ahead and did this it would be a fantastic thing for EVE, but yes as a proper expansion and not a stupid micro-transaction designed to steal all our money.

I can just picture it now, a pink avatar with a carebear .gif stuck on the side :D

Edit: I just finished the survey

I'd be for it if it was part of the market economy. Shouldn't be overly expensive, but definitely destructible as it's part of a ship, unlike the neX clothing which you never lose. And obviously would need to be able to be turned off to lower system load if need be.

A good, constructive thread. Thanks.

Personally I think you should be able to customise any ship I own. I don't want to see anything that would break the game but some outlandish colour schemes would be nice. So yellow and black chevrons, but pink and purple would be too far.

I own a few ships I have spent a lot of time upgrading, caressing and tweaking over the years. I have grown quite attached to them. I'd like to spend even more ISK on them to make them truly unique - ships I will remember for years to come. They will die, and anything that makes them that little bit more special (and their deaths that little more tragic) is pretty cool.

I own a Kessie I'v had since 2004. I use it as a shuttle and it still has it's original (rubbish) fit. It's called "The Pulsar" and I will remember it long after it's destroyed. I'd love to add some battle damage and ageing to it :)

I don't care if they are AUR-based or whatever. Reasonably priced to me would be something like half the "price of the ship". So a battlecruiser would maybe be 20m, a faction battleship would be like, 300m. A titan? 30b or whatever they cost.

I have a specific comb for my beard.

Tamber making me look horribad at what I do for a long time.

Either way I agree therer needs to be some level of customization such as ship painting corporate/allaince fleet striping (auto applied on joining fleet for uniformity!) and having a mix of free, player made, ingame drop, and prenium ingame options should be made available.

On ship destruction section add - Should be able to presave designs to be quickly reapplied later like ship fittings.

I believe this is something that absolutely should have been in the game since launch.

I also support outlandish colors and logos. I mean, we're capsuleers - who the hell is gonna 'regulate' what kinds of colors we can paint our ships? Especially for people who live completely outside of Empire borders, there's no reason they can't color their ships pink or purple if they damn well feel like it.

I think the Aurum system should be scrapped as it literally breaks the game lore (lol @ pair of pants costing more than a goddamn battleship), with customization options being bought with isk or manufactured like almost everything else is (so you can have things like rare paints with unique material properties like iridescent and pearlescent paints). In fact, I think it's kind of moronic that CCP even considered Aurum viable to begin with - what's wrong with people wanting to buy plex for ISK? Why add another currency to the mix? Having everything cost some amount of isk (or minerals, or salvage, or whatever) just makes a lot more sense.

They need to change the names of all the clothes in the store to clothing contracts since those clothes are 'immortal'.

This is something I thought you would be able to do when I originally signed up to Eve Online so needless to say was disappointed when I realised you could not. It is high on my very brief list of things that would potentially excite me.

Good points from people who noted that it should be part of the player economy. Why not create a whole new skillset for ship painting? Something new for the indy guys to train.

Still custom paintjobs could involve an ISK sink (besides the skill books), some sort of Concord licence to use custom colors in space, perhaps.

You can do both by requiring the person to buy BPCs to create the paint / stickers / whatever from a NPC store with LP or ISK or AUR. But it would require someone to manufacture that BPC into the customization kit.

Or do it the other way around, in order to buy the customization kit from the NPC store, you have to supply ISK/AUR/LP along with player-made items (ship hull + misc PI items).

Nighthawk, Candy Apple Red w/ Black Flames on the front and a tastefully placed black skull and crossbones.

...and T'Amber for CSM7!

I'll be in the market for a set of all the caldari ships w/ the Hello Kitty color scheme when they become available as well... so getting my order in now!

This would be so awesome!!! TBH this should've been introduced years ago, but sadly instead they wasted 3 years in developing the stupid space-barbie that sucked so bad that it's not even funnySad

Madly, madly in love with this idea. I will now set fire to random structures in my community every 48 hours until this is implemented.

On a slightly more serious note, people have suggested that this would be a great ISK sink to add to the game, and that most players have a strong desire to see this feature utilize ISK instead of other resources.

My suggestion would be to make the customization cost based on ship hull cost. For example a Rifter should be very cheap to customize, where as a Curse or Zealot should be much more expensive to give a custom paint job too. This way you create an ISK sink that is relevant to players who want their big shiny fancy ship to have a sweet new look, but you don't exclude newer players or players who like to fly cheap disposable ships.

The cost should be some direct percentage of the basic cost for that ship. That makes sense, right?
