Sure layouts and restructuring old info may take time to iron out. But color schemes to make a site readable is a pretty basic design principle.

Now I can't even show EVE website to friends. It will be "LoL he plays Asian mmo game". That's how your website looks now and it gave me that feeling too first time I looked at it CCP. Fail.

Played quite a few MMOs...there are only three websites that come to mind that *don't* follow the same general format as the front page of this Eve site, and even those are *pretty* close: WoW, EQ2 and All Points Bulletin. Of all of those sites (and the three "different ones" included) I've yet to see one that has this much polish.

Looking forward to the community site. Hope this isn't all wasted effort.

Edit: IMO, one of the big things that keeps players in games is a well formed community with access to databases and information on flashy, well crafted, easy-to-use and easy-on-the-eyes websites. Most of these are player made, and while the sites I've seen for Eve are definitely helpful, they are not pretty. *YOU* might not think that's important, but it seems to help keep people around. Personally, EveMon and BattleClinic helped significantly in keeping my attention. Powerful tools created by players suggests an amazing community. Had this website been around when I started, that would also have been quite interesting to me.
