Read CCP Diagoras' newest devblog for the all the information regarding the CSM 7 candidacy period! Make yourself familiar with the procedure and maybe even become a candidate yourself. Where else do you have the chance to represent hundreds of thousands of players and represent them with meaningful actions?

The CSM 7 candidacy period will open on February 8, 2012 at 0:01 UTC.

dont worry goons will upvote everyone to clutter the ballet. Unless CCP does a check for double likes its a worthless issue
Its mainly to get people that submit but do not campain off the ballot

These clowns claim to speak for the playerbase but are only in for the personal gain of their 0.0 alliances, so it is time to end the it.

Now I realize how this works out I'm even less of a fan of the forum pre-election than I was before.
I used to narrow my field of favourites after having read their "short" campaign message in the official list of candidates on the CSM page of the site, where the links to their campaign site/forum thread where conveniently listed. Now I will have to wade through all the possible candidates in a forum with other topics, with the risk of missing some because they have not been bumped enough.
Like it didn't take enough time to make a semi-informed opinion already.X

So, we will still be able to essentially lie, cheat and steal to get on the council? Why fashion it after the fail that is the US electoral system where money/spin > all?

Introduce an internal audit of candidates to ensure that as many "walks of life" are represented .. doesn't have to be equal in numbers, but judging from the Dec. minutes the bore-sec people have little to no idea of what goes on anywhere else in Eve.

Hell, go one step further and have 'expert panels' assembled when brainstorming the various aspects of Eve that a given CSM are 'weak' in .. Piracy for instance is an 'honourable' occupation for those who dabble and is entirely separate from the random noob gank that people not versed in it think it is (murder is not the same as extortion .. shocker!).

Let me know when you get serious about having a player council rather than just a "my bloc is bigger than your bloc" council.
