Over the last 24 hours the server you are hosted on has been hit with a large DDoS attack.

The hosting service were fairly sure we had found the target of the attack yesterday morning and the account was removed from our network and the attack stopped. At around 10pm last night the attack started again at a much larger scale than the first.

Due to the size of the attack the attempts to mitigate and filter the traffic was not successful and it was a case of either waiting for the attack to stop or changing all sites IPs to bring sites online.

All IPs have now been changed but will take some time to propagate.

When changing the IPs the setup of the server slightly differently than before. Previously all accounts were on the same shared IP address, this was also the servers main IP, as this was the IP being targetted it proved difficult tracking down the site being attacked and resulted in everyone being offline while the IP was nulled. We have now split clients into several groups, all using a different IP address and the main IP is unused. If the attack starts again we'll be able to null only a small portion of the server and keep most clients online.

So apologies for the disruption but it has been completely out of my hands over the last 24/36 hours and I hope we are all now back to a full service..

Hi,

Looking at you Killboard and trying to see where things could be speeded up.

Using an audit tool I get these advisories:
A width and height should be specified for all images in order to speed up page display. The following image(s) are missing a width and/or height:
ost.gif
involved10_10.png (25 uses)
comment_white13_10.gif (25 uses)

In particular the ost.gif is a very large image and if possible should be reduced in size. It is over 1MByte and this could be rationalised for web use.

for the database update, it seems devs are not going to put upgrades on kb link to do it by itself and i dont know how to do it.
