What are your views on best solo pvp ships to use for 1 vrs 1's
I can fly so many ships but when it comes down to chooseing 1. i am confused.
to make it alot easier ill post what ships i can fly.

T1 Frigs = ALL T2 Everything.
T1 Cruisers = ALL T2 Sac,Zealot,Curse,Pilgrim,Falcon,Rook,Cerb,Eagle,
BattleCruisers ALL T2 Nighthawk,Damnation,Vulture,Absolution
Battleships ALL T2 Widow,

just cant make up my mind one what i want to use. so asking for help from those with experiance in solo work of pvp and also buffer or active tank/

based on what you currently fly I suggest either a Curse or a Nano Harbi.

arguably, one of the best solo pvp ships is the curse.

i used a vagabond in my pirating. but this was b4 the speed nerf

after that i used a pilgrim, curse, sleipnir, and jag were my favs
i used winmatar ship and this is what i was taught in and i fell in love with mimna guns.

but go with a ship that complements your style and skill points

Rather predictably, I'll vote for frigates of any flavor. With the AF buff, they are becoming the de facto standard ship for it's hull size in PvP. I will give CCP kudo's on the AF buff too because they didn't simply make T1 frigs obsolete and a well fit T1 frig is able to make good account of itself against their pumped up counter-parts.

The AF's make for excellent solo ships, able to pummel larger vessels than themselves as well as like-sized targets while retaining the speed advantage to pick your fights and run from bad ones.

Train Winmatar. Or, blaster feroxes and shield brutixes are back and melting stuff (I've done some tournys and blaster feroxes/moas almost always get into the top 3) Cynabal is (a little too) good (Angels really need to get rebalanced depsite the fact I love them... >.>) Daredevil has replaced the dramiel as the solo wtfbbqpwn pirate frigate. Battleships: Best shield tank is the Maelstrom, i personally like the Megathron for armor (Abaddon is too cap hungry for me) and blasters are quite good now. Big smile

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

i would suggest the Drake or any of the Teir 2 BC's as they are great ships to learn PvP in. They are forgiving and have a huge target window.

Frigates are great fun but you have 0 room for error, cruisers are ideal for roaming PvP but you have to be well skilled to open up your target window to anything other than frigates that come at you like a mad man. Battleships are for docking games and ganks and have no other role in solo PvP.

There are exceptions of course but i find the above to be generally true.

Rifter all the way.

I have started flying them almost exclusively for my solo roaming in low sec. They get fights and can hold their own against all the other T1 frigs. They can kill destroyers in the right circumstances. They can easily get under the guns of cruisers and BC's. Just carry lots of ammo so when you do have a BC going down to you, you have enough ammo to finish the job. If you are going roaming in low sec and want to be versatile, just keep an MWD in your cargo hold and swap it for your AB when you see something on scan that requires it.

Incursis pulls a close second imho, but it's till a great ship, and if you are in a Rifter, don't take it lightly. It too can be deadly in the right hands.

As you seem to be an Amarr guy, I would suggest the Vengeance. Decent dps, great tank and basically impossible to completely neut out. When you get into a bigger boat the Nano Harbinger is a good choice, decent speed/range and great dps.

If you have a lot of money then 100mn Legion with legion and loki boosts :)

Evil: If I were creating the world I wouldn't mess about with butterflies and daffodils. I would have started with lasers, eight o'clock, Day One! [zaps one of his minions accidentally, minion screams]

I've not spent much time in a Rifter but I know how good they can be... even at low skillpoints (this isnt an insult, its a fantastic starter ship as well as for experienced people).

The Incursus is a superb Gallente ship and fantastic starting alternative to a Rifter too but I have been having much more fun in the Tristan of late.
