....or anyone else for that matter...

I want to change the way CSM is organized and how communication between the player base and CCP takes place.
Reasons include:

- Many people feel the CSM position is being abused by certain CSM members
- Better alternatives where a broader spectrum of players can take part in the CSM processes
- Having this changed will invite many more players to be involved and feel involved with CCP's EvE-online

So I am asking you, to vote for Tiger Would.

A vote on Tiger Would means:

- Change the way CSM is currently organized and become a portal between the player base and CCP
- My seat will be taken by the player base through online roundtables to discuss issues raised
- Helping CCP out gathering the player base around and get the player base involved
- Guiding, rather than voicing my own opinions, the opinions of the majority
- Ensure online roundtables will consist of random players (new to vet & every corner of New Eden)

You can find a campaign thread i will keep updating throughout the election here:

So, who is the person behind Tiger Would, who you might put your vote on?

I live in the Netherlands which is also where i was born. I am 42 years old and have children.
I am an IT Consultant who specializes in virtualisation, databases (Oracle, SQL, DB2), Cisco unified Computing systems and a wide range of OS's (AIX UNIX, OS/400, any flavor linux and windows)

Me together with colleague's and some family members discovered EvE-Online about 2 years ago.
We have been playing on and off since. We played for a few months, had a small break, than played a few months again.
This was due to us seeing awesome possibilities withing EvE but also made us realise this is not just any game.
As we where ambitious in regards to our goals we understood we had a lot of homework to do.
So the whole time we been studying the game, player behaviour, killmails, combat logs, politics and so on while starting new characters.

Since November last year however we felt we where ready to stay in the game and see if our theory can be put to practice.

So in a way one could say i am a kind of an expert at being a noob.
The decision to run for CSM is rooted in me loving the game and respecting CCP to an extent i would love to help out on some of the issues. One of these issues that keeps coming up is, what can be done to attract new players and get them to subscribe for a long term game involvement.

I noticed in the past 2 years that every advert you see about EvE shows how you can carve out your own path and only your ambition is your limitation. Yet, every time i started a character and played for a while it seemed some ambitions, like the ones we had as a group (owning a sov holding alliance in null-sec, given time and effort) simply looks impossible.

After 2 years i do see a possibility, but its still theory and will take atleast another 2 years to achieve.
But i can also see why so many new players are put off by that almost invisible possibility, i can see how one could start to think after benig podded a view times while asked to come to a certain alliance space the game is only fun for the older players.

People tell you to join a corporation, but before finding a nice group you might very well be scammed a few times.
This ofcourse is what makes EvE work, no doubt, but it does not help new potential subscribers see, they to, given time and effort, can be anything they want.

Than you have these activities in your first days of space which does not at all look like the adventure you seen in the advert.

To make a long story short, i think i can provide excellent feedback on this new player experience and have some great ideas how to make it more visible what you can become and actually make it look obtainable (kind of the carrot infront of the horse thing)

To give you an small example, i answered some questions inside the below forum post about the mining profession, which is one of the first things you do in EvE.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=795771#post795771

Here are some other questions i answered:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=798491#post798491

I also think by revamping the way CSM is structured this could help to get the community more involved.
Not just the long time players, but also these players that have only been around for a few months.
I beleive only a new player can tell us how the experience of being a new player looks like currently, would you not agree?

Anyways, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Once you think you have it all, you have actually become ignorant towards everything else.

See, CCP already has a way better alternative.
The CSM just isn't working as intended, atleast for the player base.
It was a great idea when it started, but it is getting more and more abused for ingame political issues.

Can you give 2 examples with independant evidence?

Yes, this is exactly what we need, the ability for discussions about features to become even more completely bogged down in discussions and voting. I like it, you've got my vote!

Also, I would hardly considered weaselior's reply off-topic or spam. It was a rather pointed barb that was pretty much on point. Too harsh for the sandbox of forums where slavery is still acceptable in role-playing? Really?

Thank you for removing all that dribble.

Now the thread is cleaned up again, i would like to add a few thoughts.

What exactly is the purpose of having a CSM?
This is actually pretty clear, it could enhance, and once did, the communication between the EvE community and CCP.
It also fitted into the realism aspect of politics.

What does the communication consist of?
Well, not going into details, but its primary purpose is to discuss game mechanics and how they work out in "the field" (within the game)

Than you have secondary purposes like, there is an entity which stands for CCP listening to the playerbase and vice versa.
In multiple ways, in theory, this will make both "sides" feel more envolved with the game.

So my OP argues that we (the eve community) do not need CSM in its current form anymore.
A notable reason for this seems people feel the CSM position is being abused within the game.
(NOTE: Not all CSM's abuse the position)

People also feel that on the EvE-Online forum it seems to matter if one has already been CSM, how big your alliance is, if your posting with a main or alt and even the age of the character in regards to your opinion being taken seriously or atleast respected. People also feel that the way the voting can be abused by candidates in their favor will make the CSM "lobsided".

All the above mentioned CSM purposes have much better and accurate alternatives by using the community forum.
And i do mean accuracy in terms of, CCP would have a much more accurate poll because of the diversity of voices in regard to any issue raised. I am also sure many more people would be willing to actually get envolved.

And thats the crux in this particular issue, the game EvE-online would benefit greatly if a much larger part of the community would get envolved. CCP would greatly benefit and so would the player base.

Beside the "I want your little things" by the CCP Dev(s) there could also be a "I want your big things" thread.
Once every X period the thread will be emptied. CCP can than look into the ideas and figure out what is feasible and match it with the ideas they have for the game.

CCP could Invite a few players from their playerbase every X period to a online "roundtable" and discuss what they are thinking about and get feedback on that. A final step could be to present a X number of ideas, features or fixes for the Eve-community to vote on. This vote could be for making priority changes or simply to see what is the most popular thing the community is waiting for or wants.

And not just playerbase ideas ofcourse, pretty sure CCP still has lots of very cool tricks up their sleeve.
And this brings me to an other thought.

People also feel some CSM members seem to claim everything you think is cool about the game EvE-Online, is thought up and thanks to these CSM members and that these members make people think that everything that is broken is the only thing done by CCP.

This, simply can not be true as CCP is the brain behind everything that is EvE.

And if we look at new subscriptions for a second, if you enter a game with the learning curve EvE is known for, and the prejudice that you will never be able to catch up with the veterans, let alone, being able in due time to actually take over a piece of nullsec space.......this is already looking very daunting and puts off many new players (you either never see null-sec or you are slaved and never be able to hold some sov yourself one day) This is often the first impression.

If a new subscriber would than see that large sov holding alliances also have all the communication with the game developers to their selves and they feel these members are clearly suggesting changes that will even take away the option of ever being able to see null-sec or hold sov n a null-sec area without becoming an slave to an existing alliance.....

I can see how this would be a very big disillusion after watching those trailers, reading all the good things about eve where you can become whatever you want, even the owner of a big sov holding alliance (given time and effort).
Every advert says: Carve out your own path, but this way it might look as a impossibility, so why invest time in the game.
Hence putting of new subscribers. People for the mnost part agree EvE-online needs "fresh blood" and i am pretty sure CCP will not mind either Blink

No, People feel that CSM in its current form is not working out as it should. (Getting playerbase envolved, making sure the game is looked at from every perspective and make ambitious goals look obtainable)

And that is where i am coming from. People feel CSM in its current form hurts EvE-online gameplay and in-directly hurts the number of new subscribers.

You make impression like you believe in what you write.
I can add you even more points to consider about 0.0.
Every 0.0 currently held under control of current alliances got huge territories just for machine accounts.
Number of players accounts in 0.0 is decreasing every year. Best areas of every 0.0 is usually for mechanical accounts (artificial intelligence programs). They usually take best spaces and are 40% of population.
Rest are usually players. From time to time each current 0.0 alliance need to recruit to fix % amount between mechanical accounts inside and real players.
I do not have to mention that Real players got no chances in that environment to actually enjoy fair fight.
Your ideas might be first step to fix that. Personally I am sure that CSM idea is wrong.

Holy ****!

100 lies....ehm likes

Completely unexpected, but will definitly put in the effort to get a more envolved community in regards to the direction EvE is going.

Also putting every effort into re-vamping the way CSM works to achieve the above said.

A third main goal for me is to make new subscribers see their ambitious goals are obtainable and also suggesting changes to that effect.

Thanks!
