So just a few months ago I learned the value of intact armor plates. I was told this is because they're a "bottleneck" to T2 rig manufacturing, in much the same way that nanoribbons are the bottleneck to T3 manufacturing. They used to go for about 35M and have been doing so for as long as I can remember. Since november however, the price has been plummeting they're currently selling for 17M in Amarr.

Is there a reason for this drop, or is someone playing silly buggers with the market? Is this likely to "bottom out" or continue dropping? Historically, the price has been stable until just recently. I'm sat on a plile of them right now and I'm wondering whether to hold them, sell them or start buying up more while they're cheap...

This also seems to apply to the regular armor plates but who cares about those? Big smile

drop rate doubled = price will stabilize at 35/2

btw a lot of bots sit on Jita buy order for intact plates, 0.01isking in under 3 seconds :) I see an opportunity for someone to flip the market

If you're going to dump a lot of capital into an item, you best keep on track with what patches/expansions are going to do. Sometimes it doesn't work when they dont mention exactly (hello meta prop loot table change and historic plummet).. but in this circumstance you would have seen a red flag..

Crucible buff'd what player wrecks salvaged into it.. meaning more T2 salvage part pieces will be on the market. Supply went up.

Talk of armor rig changes for better.. if you're not going to try and manipulate/corner the market to force a temp inflation, hold onto them and wait til the change and, thus the demand.. for the rigs/salvage pieces go up some.

My stash is fairly insignficant, certainly not enough to manipulate the market with. Someone in my corp said the drop rate had quadrupled; is there a source for where this change was mentioned?

However if the drop rate is double and not quadruple then it sounds like armor plates have indeed just bottomed out.

I don't have the slighest idea the drop rate on them plates. And I'm honestly too tired to care and look for info on the Crucible change.

If you don't have much capital tied into them, and it's not holding you down to simply hold onto them.. I'd say possibly either wait for a minor rebound when demand for the T2 rigs themselves jump up because of the lowered cost to get them, and cut your loses.. or when they get around to buffing all armor rigs in general and hope for the best.

It would not make much sense if they did that after nerfing supercap EHP.

But then again, :ccp:

I don't mean buff'ing the hp percentage increase.. I meant 'buff' by changing the penality around so armor fit sub-caps aren't so much hindered by lack of velocity, prop top speed, overall acceleration and agility that creates a negative aspect more signficant than a sig radius increase of shield rigs.

Cap console
Intact Armor
Intact Shield

Egress
Tri-Mark
Dunno about shield

Medium Egress for Logi, Large for capital
Tri-mark and shield for whatever.

I can put together any T2 rig before those parts for under ten mill and that includes the bpc. Those parts usually require 5 and that ramps it up, even yet to over 100 mill usually 200 mill + per rig.

As they become more and more abundant they will fall in price and they will start to make it in to production. No rig should cost more than 15 mill. None. Its a module, no different than a gun ar an armor repair. It dies with the ship. For the purpose of effective productions, all parts need to be available in proportional amounts and it seems they are now.

Depending on what you want to do with them, buy all the other parts now, while they are cheap or sell the over priced ones because they won't stay that way.
