Are you tired of flying solo?

Do you avoid fights because you don't have experience PVPing?

Have you gotten tired of doing missions?

This is your chance to learn how to fight, get noticed in militia, and pad your killboard.

I'm no god of pvp, but neither am i completely new to it. What i intend to do is start leading pickup fleets of you new guys to Gallente militia who would like to learn how to pvp. I will try and teach you everything I know.

what do I ask of you?

-Eve voice, you don't have to talk, but you have to listen
-Listen to my, or the secondary commanders, orders to the letter
-Have T1 frigates or T1 destroyers (Please no Faction or t2 ships, trying to keep costs low)
-An eagerness to fight

If this sounds interesting to you please join,

Calamari Buffet

I know how hard it is to start out, no one will invite you to the good fleets. you end up flying through lowsec solo in some frig and getting blobbed either by pirates or the Caldari. Oh and by the way, we might leroy.

First planned fleet will be on thursday 2:15 (eve time, so Wednesday night for most people) Have a T1 frig or Dessy in Heydieles Solar System. Don't be afraid to loose it

Ships i would love to come
-Thrasher
-Catalyst
-Coercer
-Tristan
-Incurses
-Rifter
-Grifin

Any questions about the fit, send me what you have so far and ill make some suggestions.

... Typing +1 isn't how you do it... Try actually clicking the like button. It isn't hard to grasp, is it?

Interesting. You have the exact same kick-off time as BolsterBomb's T1 Caldari effort.

You had me considering until the leroy part.

I know a lot of people find it fun to warp to a 99% certain death but I've never understood it. "Hey we're outnumbered, outgunned, out-piloted and will almost definitely die without much impact if we just warp straight to them. Let's do it!" Meh. Frankly it shows a lack of imagination and tactical knowledge. But it gives me a great idea...

Why not just SAY you're with the Gallente, but really be a Caldari spy. Then gather up a bunch of noob Gallente pilots that don't know any better, promise to teach them to PVP, then warp them into a massive Caldari fleet to be utterly destroyed. Scream LEROYYYY! while warping so no one catches on, allowing for repeats of this scenario nightly and massive KB padding for the Caldari... oh, wait....

Leroy-ing does not mean certain death. while most people will compare Leroy-ing to intentionally suiciding the fleet, that is not what it means.
Never would I charge into a plex woefully outgunned or outnumbered, but i would however fly into a plex where they may have 15 and we have 10, sometimes its the size of the balls that win.
Mainly what i associate Leroy-ing with is looking at the odds an deciding they are sketchy, not a sure fight, but that makes the victory oh so much better. Any Joe the plumber can take superior numbers and superior ships into a fight and win. What really is the test of a pilot and his/her ability to work with others is going into a fight with fewer ships or smaller ships.

In the past week alone i can think of several times were us gallentes flew into fights where the odds weren't quite in our favor, but we thought that there was this chance that we may prevail, and we did.

So i guess what i consider Leroy-ing is taking the fight to an enemy with smaller numbers and even smaller ships, but most importantly a plan as well as shock and awe and sticking to your guns and not dying without taking a large chunk of the enemy.

Also man, its internet spaceships, ones that cost internet money, and shoot internet projectiles, live a little.

Let me explain it to you:

1. Avoiding getting killed is not the most important objective for all people.
2. Trying to last as possible against a superior enemy is a perfectly fine objective, and can be an excellent learning experience.
3. Trying to take as many enemies down with you can be a perfectly fine objective.

Fighting above your weight class is often better for your PvP skills than fighting below your weight class. Its not hard to shoot fish in a barrel.

Took me about 40 tries (and 20 deaths) before I figured out how to kill Dramiels 1vs1, and it still a tricky fight.

You've heard of opportunity cost? Well, if you earn say, 30million isk per hour of your favorite isk-earning activity, then flying around for 3 hours looking for the *right* engagement is costing you 90 million isk. If, on the other hand, you engage in a very risky situation in one hour, you might lose your 10million isk vessel, but you actually save 60 million isk by not wandering for 2 more hours (if your goal is to get a PvP engagement).
