You need certain CORP standings to the respective empire to anchor in hi-sec. 0.5 requires a standing of 5, 0.6 requires 6, etc...

Low-sec does not require standings to anybody, nor does null, however as expected there is a much higher risk for random war decs and such.

To elaborate on the previous post. You need to be in a corp in faction standings 10x higher than the security of the system, So if you want to anchor a POS in Caldari space in a 0.5 sec system you will need a faction standing of 5.00 with the Caldari Empire. You will also need Caldari Starbase charters (markets or LP store).

If you are planning to use a small tower you will want to be in empire space as it will be easy to kill in low/0.0. I would also suggest buying EWAR mods to make it a less appealing target for griefers and war decs. They don't have to be online but should be anchored. You should also consult the wiki as all of this information and more is available there.

If you have the blueprints then I suggest building the components before ancoring them P

Not to be rude, but if you don't know HOW you're going set the station up, then you probably are better off not using one until you have a better idea of how a POS works and what is needed to actually make a profit.

POS's are very expensive to run, and will generally cost you money unless you perform a lot of research first (and I don't mean BP research...).

Best of luck

Setting up a POS costs more than just buying/building the modules.

as others have said you need faction 10x that of the sec level. a 0.5 system needs faction standings of 5.0 for that empire. You will also need starbase charters, one per hour to keep tower online. This is faction not to a corp in that faction. For example my main has 7.64 effective 7.19 base standings with Caldari Navy but only 6.18 effective 5.45 base standing with Caldari State faction. I can only put up towers in 0.5 sec Caldari space not 6.0 as the 6.18 is effective standings not base standings.

Also keep in mind this is the standings of your corp to the faction, not just the individual trying to set up the tower. I had to start a new corp with only my main in it for 7 days to get the corp standings equal to my mains standings. Any additional characters that join the corp that have any faction positive or negative will affect the corp standings as it is based on an average between all corp members. members with 0.0 standings are not counted towards the average. Also this is base standings not effective standings. your skills that improve your standings do not affect corp standings. for example if your main has 6.2 effective standings with Caldari State but only 4.7 base standings the corp will only benefit from the 4.7 which will not allow you to anchor a tower in even 0.5 sec space.
