We only have to wait ANOTHER WEEK to get such AWESOME and COMPLICATED TO CODE improvements like increasing the font size from 12 to 13 and getting 30 topics displayed instead of 20 !

It's good news to me.

It effects me in no negative way whatsoever, and it pisses off bitter vets. Win/Win.

I hope they release it for a day, then re neg it for a week.

I want to play on my slip and slide with forum tears one more time before winter.

So you agree, then, that this forum software is thoroughly antiquated and needs to be updated quite soon.

is it better then the old on? hell yes

i think i know why CCP doesnt listen to constructive criticism. its because so many people whine for the sake of whining that they cant figure out why is constructive and what is just people being babies.

these forums are better then the old ones, therefore its an improvement. chill.

this forum works a lot better on my phone. it has been an improvement all around for my experience, and if you dont like the size, zoom in. its not hard.

just in case you folks have not sorted it out yet,

the scroll wheel + ctl scales the entire forum frame, pictures and all

this also is a method for limiting the left and right margins because as you scale up the frame remains centered but the frame scales up also

I want small text on the entire screen, not small text on the center column, nor large text on the entire screen.
I also want a more legible font/colorscheme combo at SMALL font sizes.

In fact, better still, I would like to be able to CHOOSE how the entire forum looks like FOR ME when logged in, not just the "background" picture - it's a feature a lot of forums have been implementing, some of them since least a decade ago.

And I want to stop seeing "there was an error parsing this post's BBcode" and "sorry, we've been ganked".

Ah, but you see, you still DO have to log back in... you just don't have to manually re-enter the username and password each time, and you don't even need to push the "log in" link at all - it's done automatically for you.

Do try to write a longer post and hit submit.
You will notice that you HAVE TO POST AGAIN BECAUSE YOU WERE LOGGED OUT, AND LOGGED BACK IN WHEN YOU HIT POST.
And god forbid you're using some stupid browser that doesn't keep text field contents when you press back.

On the other hand, before, you just needed to save your user/password in the browser "keyring" (or equivalent) and press one extra link. I can't really say it was noticeably more bothersome than what still happens now anyway. At least, I got used to it quite fast.

No. It just doesn't work on my microwave!

I think you guys are just making mountains out of molehills. By being flippant (and to some extent condescending) you may, just may, chill a little and let things run their natural course.

The oldest rule of development
1) You can please most of the people most of the time.
2) You can't please everyone all of the time.
3) You can't please some ever.

I feel that you fall into the latter category. Your complaints have been repeated over an over and over. At any time you can choose to use another forum. You don't. Therefore my conclusion is that the forums are working, even for someone with so many terrible, browser breaking, earth-shattering "problems".

It's Sunday where I am right now. Go to church and thank whoever you pray to that your life is so good that the biggest issue in your life is a forum that will not comply.

As a matter of fact, there's plenty of things that are far bigger issues, both with the game and with the real world.
This is merely an ANNOYANCE. And one annoyance that could have been "fixed" with not that much extra work. Work which CCP either refuses to even begin, or is incapable of doing.
The "constructive criticism" phase started back when these forums first went online as beta over half a year ago, and visually speaking, they're nearly identical to what they looked like back then. Functionally speaking, the improvements are minor.

To put it in words you can more easily understand, these forums are the stale crackers you have to eat in the morning because your housemate can't be bothered to properly close the lid on the airtight box you put them in, a housemate that bought the damn crackers in the first place (not the brand you asked for, but they're tolerable) with money you gave him to do so.
You generally like the guy, and you enjoy the company, but sometimes he can do some annoying things, and over time you are starting to get fed up with it all and briefly ponder either moving out or getting another housemate.
And in that above, CCP is "that housemate".

It seems that these forums displeases you quite greatly.

If there as so many faults in them, then why not go and make your own forum. That way you can set it up the way you want it and how you want it. If it gets more popular than CCP's own forum then you will have a valid reason for your complaints.

There are few arguments that are stronger than having them beaten at their own game.

Untill then this sounds like hot air to me.

The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.

Didn't CCP already lay the "final straw that broke your camel's back" months ago? Yet CCP continues to lay final straws that some how re-break your camel's back again... and again... and again.

You sound like someone that is so bored and resentful with his marriage that every little thing your spouse does annoys and irritates you. You need to divorce from CCP; for your own good. I'm not kidding.

I wasn't big fan of these new forums either. However after tweaking the layout and colors the appearance isn't such big annoyance anymore.

Certainly there is stuff to improve and everyone aren't lucky enough to be able to run some custom modifications. However personally I can live with this after they have fixed:

-> BBcode parsing error with %-characters.
-> Ganked-issues
-> Posting page timing out and sending text to /dev/bin when user hits post-button.
-> Images without custom script would be nice bonus.
