When it comes to gankers vs miners I know what side I'm on. I personally think hulkagaddon should be scrapped. But 5 years on and it's still going. Hulkagaddon will come as sure as night follows day. So this thread is for all my fellow miners out there that want help setting up and getting ready for the dark days to come. I'm asking for other fellow miners to post successful mining tips during combat situation. Can you really tank a hulk for high sec? Will a covetor be a better idea. Is it better to invest in warp core stabilisers or shield hardeners? Is a fleet of ECM drones with 1 combat drone any good if you did need to go afk for any reason. What would you recommend to give another miner that edge for when the lights start blazing ?

Directional scan, 360 degrees, maximum range. Should you see ships like Catalysts, Thrashers, Typhoons (smartbombing devastation, here we come), Tier 3 BCs....maybe you should consider to dock.

There are several tutorials for D-scan, just google it.

Hulkageddon or not, if you are mining in low sec then it's a chance that you take 52 weeks out of the year. If you're talking about high sec mining and you are a genuine player and not a bot, go work on your standings for a couple of weeks, run a few missions.
When it all boils down to it the more ships that are destroyed in Hulkageddon the better it is for miners. Minerals are in demand to build replacements.
Long live Hulkageddon or any other venture that destroys ships.

The only preparation miners need to do is actually learning how to play the fricking game.

Actually, upon thinking about it this morning....the idea has become rather old hat.

We need a new idea like the Goon's Gallente Ice Interdiction.

We don't need a specific event to kill hulks. Crashing suicide-fit destroyers and BCs into as many exhumers as you can find used to be something people did purely for the hell of it. Now everyone wants to wait for some event and get prizes like a bunch of carebears.

2 catalysts can push out 1300 DPS with a good fit and void now. Everyone knows how ridiculous tornado alpha is. Go out there and shoot something! Gotta do something with all that ISK.
