I’m new to Eve and I’m starting to plan my skills. I have a question regarding the Shield and Armor Compensation skills. Is it worth training these skills to 5? On the shield side, it seems like you gain 3% passive resist per level when using an Invulnerability Shield but the active shield % doesn’t change.

Absolutely train them but only after you can't think of anything else to train in Engineering.

unless going caps or plan on running passive resists you could skip the shield comps. 4 em if you care but if neuted/nos'd to bone dry cap in pvp or pve usually the ship going boom is coming up real soon. rats most likely will have the dps for a good kill and a pvp'er sure as hell will if minny or amarr (they'd go right for the em hole now at why bother resist levels).

I am 4 on these on a passive resist tengu (and others I like passive resists for a variety of reasons for pve) and not seeing the need to train for more at the moment. If you need moar resist for pve break down and buy the ds passive resists mods. Type B's are good and relatively cheap (the em will hurt the wallet, sellers gouge you on that one's price :( ).

armour tank 4 the comps them for sub caps, 5 for when in the big rigs. Your boost to eanm for pvp not all that great imo for the sub caps. Thats 40 days that probably could fix something else more needed and more immediate effect for pve or pvp.. Now on your caps and such, every little bit helps when you get stuck and its 5 time.
