Just started playing eve again, loving it really dont know why i left.

Currently scrapping through lvl4 missions in my Maelstrom but i could be doing it alot quicker. Would like a few tips on what to focus my trainning on now, so I`m not all over the place like usual with my trainning. I was thinking getting my drones up to T2, rigs T2 and large guns T2 next.

Any advice would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Edit oh yeah this might help Lupinde3rd

T2 Light and Medium Drones are always useful to have; train all Drone support skills to 4, as well as Specialization for Gallente and Minmatar Drones. Don't bother with Caldari or Amarr at this point.

T2 Large Guns are a lofty goal, plus get all Gunnery Support skills up to at least 4. Don't forget Weapon Upgrades (5) and Advanced Weapon Upgrades (4).

Look at your Shield skills, they might need some work. Minmatar Battleship to 4.

Max out on all skills that will give you more Capacitor, more Energy Grid and more CPU.

Regarding T2 Rigs: I wouldn't consider them a must have at this point. Get your Rigging skills for Shields and Projectile Weapons to 4, though.

My suggestion would be the killing people skills. Forget the mission stuff, queue killing people skills, sell the mael and buy a crapload of cheap pew ships and have fun. THEN you'll wonder why you ever quit

You do not need T2 rig skills yet. You don't really want to put T2 rigs on a T1 missioning battleship.

Your tanking skills are pretty good.

You do need a lot of work on your drone skills. Get Gallente and Minmatar Drone Specializations to 4 and Drone Interfacing to 4 ASAP.

Get Minmatar Battleship and Large Projectile Turrets to 4 ASAP.

Then fill out all the other gunnery support and drone support skills to 4.

This should increase your mission speed greatly.

After that, go for Large Autocannon Specialization 4 and any fitting skills needed to make it work.

Then think about which of your level 4 skills would benefit from being bumped up to 5.

Caldari drones are worth getting up as well.
They are over looked a lot because most people under estimate the value of them.
I have all drone skill that can be used in high sec to 5 and caldari drones are my drone of choice.

They hit harder then minmitar and have more speed then gallente. This alone makes the middle of the road but they have one more great aspect. They are shield heavy! They can take more dmg before pulling in without needing to repair. For pve you won't have to worry about your drones as much and for pvp they work great for cycling drones when others target them. They don't have the most health but they do have the highest natural recharge rate. They also have the best dmg type for the npc's that get close enough to use them for those who don't want to switch drones for each mission.

Gallente and minmitar are always favored because the benifits are the most in your face. Highest dps for gallente. Fastest for Minmitar.
Gallente drones are the choice for incursions mainly due to tracking. Minmitar have the best heavies for missions.

Amarr drones are made for new players for the most part. The huge structure health makes them harder to lose when learning. Structure also offers a much more balanced resist compared to gallente drones.
Amarr sentries are good for em missions too but don't require the specialization skill.

^^ Hadn't thought about it like that. I quite like Warden II's, so maybe Caldari Lights and Mediums are worth it as well.

I will try this shortly and see how they fare. Smile

Thanks for all the replies.

Yeah focusing on my drones skills now, 1 more day till Scout drone op 5. Then onto Min/gal/cal specialisations followed by some drone support skills like drone interfacing/ sharpshooter etc not necessarily in that order.

So those pesky little frigs that web/scramble me should be a lot less of worry now in my missions.

Thx

Quicker than a Maelstrom, you might wish to consider the mighty Machariel. Shield tanked, it'd have so much gank you'd blink and miss at least 3 missions.

The Gaming MoD - retro to modern, console to MMO, I blog about it if it's a game and I'm interested in it. Yes, I play games other than Eve and I don't care if you think I'm wrong.
