I've tried many MMOs... and most bore me.

The only one I am currently waiting for is the rumored Fallout one. Probably will be crap, but one can hope.

I was never interested in another MMO. EvE Was the first I tried.

I have since tried Black Prophecy. That lasted 2 hours.

...why try another MMO? It's a waste of valuable EvE game time.

About the same, the tutorial is boring as hell.

I just wanted some freelancer style stick and rudder but despite having a pretty good up and down the game was just to laggy for twitch combat. I hope dust isn't like that...

EVE and FFXI ruined all other MMOS for me also. FFXI for the amazing PVE and EVE for PVP. Last new mmo i tryed was RIFT and i couldnt make it past lvl 30 before being bored to tears. Actually i lied if i wanna pvp i play WoT and BF3.

I have more space likes than you.

FROG DOGS HAVE THE BALL

SWTOR got old *insanely* fast, but at least rocket charge was funny for intercepting passes in Huttball.

What amused me most were all the people defending the game so profusely. "All MMOs have issues on release" ...except its the worst launch I've seen since 2007 (Edit: Scratch that, I forgot about Mortal Online), from one of the biggest game devs backed by the biggest publisher...with many, MANY smaller, modern games coming out with virtually no issues and better end games. Arguments in support of the terrible release are invalid.

While Eve readers may not care/understand, the ability delay issue was horrible for those of us who did end-game pvp in other, similar games. (Oh that's fine, game, I don't need to interrupt his heal or anything. You're right) Pretty much all the end game pvpers (read: Gladiators from BG9) who migrated over left in the first three weeks. Awkward!

Anyways, /rant off...Eve makes me happy. I'm sure it will also make me very, very angry. But mostly, happy. If for no other reason than how badly station trading in Jita messes with prices...for the "crazy economic pvp game" that this is, it's kinda awkward how easy it is to exploit the market.

Gotta get my butt out in space so people can exploit my tin can.

Hello, hello again.

EvE succeeds, despite CCP's best efforts to screw it up year after year.
(Is still in shock at how well CCP has performed over the past 3-4 months at actually fixing broken things.)

I think the annoying things about TOR was that Coruscant felt tiny. There was no sense anywhere of "this is where people live" or "this is where people work". Imagine the cities in WoW, if they boarded up every single doorway that didn't have a quest NPC standing behind it, then blocked off a dozen more behind locked doors which only open if you're on that quest step.

The republic city in Anchorhead felt more like a real location then Coruscant did.

Then there's the whole ineptness of Bioware to actually fix things and improve the game in small, frequent, updates. It's pretty obvious that their development process is severely flawed/broken if they can't roll out bug fixes as fast as a smaller shop like CCP.

as a new player myself i am looking forward to it in this game , i have a long history of playing other MMO's and only recently started playing EVE, Shame on me for believing the sometimes really negative feedbacks you read on other MMO s forums
I admit i didn't had much time last few weeks and only finished my last tutorial yesterday , i m hoping i will have much more time from next month onwards, i am really looking forward to get my hands dirty
so this is permanence

I actually enjoy swtor for the singelplayer rollercoaster it is.
But as the sith inquisitor attraction ends i'll be back to the sandbox.

It's just sad they had to spoil swtor with all of thouse weird npcs
spaming in general/local and danceing here and there.

Eve's pvp kind of bums me out. There really isn't much of a death penalty. I think they should institute a 30 day account ban when you die. That way it would actually mean something.

Right now it's boo hoo, I lost a ship, which cost $10 in real life.

I finally realized these things too, sometime middle of last year. Decided it was EVE or nothing. Even tried SWTOR. Blah. Waste of however much money I spent on that damn game.

Yup, keep coming back to EvE despite being dragged away from time to time to other very bland MMO. For me the lack of death penalty is definitely the killer. EQ1 had a great death penalty and I remember many long nights trying to do corpse runs.

Long Live EvE

SWTOR is a game where you can pause or leave anytime. There's nothing to lose. It's a nice alternative to EVE to relax and enjoy the great story-telling.

SWTOR = 80% enjoyment with 20% boredom
EVE (here) = 80% boredom (chatting, roaming, hard to find fair PvP... but that's EVE) but 20% (PvP) awesomeness

This 20% awesomeness and the real sandbox where the players affect the game and develeopment makes it a real MMORPG and not a "console game" like SWTOR.
