Scannable Ice Deposits in W-Space

Has anyone thought about scannable Ice deposits in WH Space?

The logistics behind fueling a POS is a nightmare at the best of times in W-Space. Adding a few tit-bits of scannable ice amonst the grav sites would make it more intresting?
Im not saying about making WH space easier, but the odd ice belt that depletes now and then wouldnt hurt? Or would it?
There could be a mix of ice types, or a new ice type that can be used with the new fuel blocks, that is generic and is present in small quantities only.

Enough to fuel a POS, but not enough to last.

Just an idea.. Oops

I heard comets in W-space a while back guess nothing came of those.

Good idea. With Fuel Blocks implemented it will be a little more complicated to fuel your POS than before which is a good thing.

Type of ice should be random not stuck to region like ice fields as u mentioned.

Maybe a Sleeper or two guarding the ice field for flavor.

I too like this idea.
I'd like it to be possible for WHs to be self sustaining, even if barely so (or perhaps only certain WHs, particularly the higher class C5 and C6 ones/ the ones without statics to high sec).

I would also put moon goo in WH space (it is 0.0 and below sec status after all), but I suspect null bears will flame that idea.

So I'd be happy with just random ice that must be scanned down, and on average can support 1 small control tower for C1s, 1 medium/2 smalls for a C2, 1 Large/2 mediums for a c3.
2 larges for a c4, 3 larges for a c5, and 4 larges for a C6 -
Of course, lets consider a C3 under that scheme with 1 large - 3/4 of the ice you get wont be suitable for your type, you will need to sell ice, and import the right type.
Perhaps there could even be peaceful inter WH trade? If one side has abundand minmatar ice, and needs amarr ice, while the other side has abundant amarr ice and needs minny ice... maybe they'd work something out?

Meanwhile, a C6, if it had 1 tower from each race, could keep them all supplied (assuming it has large enough stockpiles to act as buffers against random variation)

it would be funner if more things were scanable, including ice, and I like the idea about different types of all things, ice, ore, rats even in hidden sites. if everyone could have access to all things then manufacturing would go up and people would use various ships, rigs and fuels to pvp in.

I suppose the real thing behind this post is for more items that could be scanned down, especially in WH space. Ok, there are the common sites like Radar, Grav, Ladar and the Combat sites...

Especially if there were a more varied amount of items to be scanned.

The Ice Deposits just seemed to be the most logical.. seeing that most Wormhole inhabitants have to plan their fuel movements and production; and having some different types of ice can be a pain, but would service the random nature of the items scanned.

C1's having the lowest amount with the C5's having the greater.. but not enough to fully stock a POS; just enough to last a week or so depending on the WH class. Each belt may also be guarded by the Sleeper Drones, and as with the varying size again, has greater difficulty.

As i said in the first post above, it shouldnt make WH life any easier.. just a tiny bit more intresting and sustainable.

Ice was never introduced into WH space, and this was done intentionally by CCP, you have to come up for air eventually.

They also never expected WH's to be colonized as they are now, and the whole logistical nightmare behind being in a wormhole (which isn't that hard to get around if/once you have the people to open/close new holes until you get your desired exit) was essentially them balancing the reward portion of it out...

I'm actually suprised people still actively live in Wormholes on any grand scale, their only function is for a mediocre way to make ISK and for T3 production (which can be completed without stepping foot inside of aone if you don't care about little things, like profit margins).

Yeah, WH space has now become very colonised. Out of the Constellations i scan daily, 99% of Wh's are fully colonized and armed to the teeth with deathstarred POS's. And every system i scan, there seems to be at least one WH per system, sometimes more, making them readily available.

As for continuous colonization of w-space, i have 540 days of habitation experience, and is not that hard to fully inhabit wh space. Fuel movement to the POS can be planned easily, and only gets into problems if the system is raided.

Maybe its time for CCP to revisit this situation, as commented, they did not expect WH space to be colonized for that period of time. The player base has just evolved to get round such obstacles over time, especially where isk is concerned.

The idea of extra sites, like scannable ice deposits in small amounts, wouldnt effect the habitation too much, more like tease them if anything. maybe restricting these types to C3 or above.

I dont see how another site could hurt any current game play, except for giving you pesky buggers one more place to hide from me. I believe there was/is "ancient ice" already in game but not readily available. Maybe bring that in.

I support the idea of ice fields so long as they take the time to balance it BEFORE launch and not affect current gameplay to a significant degree.
