People say it takes 5 minutes to post an answer but yet the same folks are taking just as long to argue a point and continue these threads which goes nowhere.

Better yet, just ignore a foolish thread and move onto the next. That takes no time whatsoever.

If people would ever use the Search function before coming onto these forums and asking for help with a fit, then people would start contributing to an archive-style library of fits. Until the overall intelligence of the community improves, which should be (always) right around the corner, contributing information and wisdom to those that are simply too ignorant to begin fending for themselves is only going to propagate the cycle of unintelligent posting.

The forums nowadays are for forcing new players to grow a skin and find information for themselves.
I prefer this function of the forums over hand-holding while we spoon feed you information that you will no doubt call into question based on your own limited view of the game.

I've always been one to help newbies out on ship fittings while I'm biding my time as a member of a newbie corp, off my own back.

BUT! I only do this if they have either tried their own ideas out and it needs tweaking, (or in some cases, outright burning down) and willingness to discuss different tactics and ideas behind the fits (so they actually learn, teach a man how to fish and all that) If they just want a fit, no effort and not even bothering to do any of their own work, then they aren't getting a word out of me.
