Don't know what happened with you Halete. Your previous avatar pic was wonderful (the one with the white uniform) and made you stand out from the rest.

This current avatar doesn't blend well together. Looks indeed you tried going for the casual look but something went wrong, as it just doesn't work with the sour face, it's almost like she's about to go on a date with someone she dislikes, and has no intention of hiding that fact. The neck also feels unnatural.

Not rating your char, as I know you are capable of creating wonderful chars and assume this one's just a test.

Read that you tried going for a more casual look, you could perhaps check out Indahmawar. Regular rater here & also has a casual look to her without smiling and she manages to pull it off: Idahmawar Fazmarai

Akirei: Your char makes me think of a young officer who just has been givingt command of her first starship. Liking what you did with the outfit & background, makes a nice contrast. Also bonus points for keeping in the asian theme with the name. A solid 7/10

That's actually perfectly fine since that's what I was going for. And don't worry about the old Hally avatar, it's coming back when this event is done. ;)

The neck complaint is legit though, I'll see what I can do.

I'm sure that I rated Jandice before. If not, she stands out as one of the avatars with a great sense of persoanlity to me, and smiles well without looking uncanny-valley, so she's a resounding 9/10 for me.

Glad to hear your old avatar will make a return, she's one with a unique personality. Also just read your signature, and can see why you went for that :) Wish you great fun with it.

On the smiling, for such simple emotion it's very hard to pull off in the charcreator. As you mentioned, it's hard to make it feel fitting & natural. Really wanted a happy feel character to offset Eve's darkness and took me lots of trying to get it right. I still spot some things I feel I could improve, but afraid of touching it, as even a slight change can turn the smile into creepy zone or worse.
Somehow, it feels fitting that of all the emotions & feels to display, a happy smiling character is the hardest to pull of in Eve.

Haha, no surprises. Halete is extremely uncomfortable with the whole thing, so the expression is meant to be out of place. ;)

As for yourself, you're looking pretty typical Caldari male. That said, the lighting is great and it looks like there's a lot more attention to fascial structure than most and that earns points with me. 6.5/10.

"Typical Caldari" is high praise indeed. I cannot let the half-point sit as it is, though. Going to have to spend the rest of my day practicing my humble-yet-proud-of-my-face face.

Edit - Damn! Going to have to wait for now. The only mirrors in w-space are in C6 systems. :\ I will have to console myself in the meantime by practicing my clever worm-humour.

That hair is awfully hard to work with, so I'll give that to your credit, personally I think almost every avatar ends up looking awkward with that style, particularly in blonde.

7/10 - The synthetic eye, or whatever that is, really does not come out well in the small (forum-sized) portraits and the pose is rather stiff, though I think that was intended. I would recommend zooming in a bit more, as it really looks weird on the forums.

@Aheoss While I really don't like mohawks ill give you an 8/10 for the smirk, lighting, pose and use of jewelry. You put some effort into your character to make it look unique.

Now in your case I feel the lighting is if anyhting a little to simple and harsh, makeing your top seem rather flat and untextured.
however it is the right sort of lighting for your face as deep shadow there I feel could turn out bladly.

At first I would of said the face is a little to red and over done with makeup, but the then thinking in it it actualy works. I would however of put in a jacket or something with a collar to smooth out the sholders and break the long line of hte neck.

Over all though I'd say 7.5 to 8 out of 10

Do like how the background image the pose and the lighting work to push you into the forground.

He might be bitter because he knows what my name means. Other then that I don't know why he's trolling me so hard since I'm a new player.... and since it doesn't bother me lol. I find it amusing. If CCP would put some actual long hair into the game I'd have that instead :D.

Just to let you know, Khanid girls have got naturally tan cheeks. Actually, Indahmawar's are smoothed down with blue blush to be less red than natural. So, it's not make up, it's their natural colors.
