DSTON reports that an arrangement has been made with Kaalakiota Corporation to use a portion of one their stations in State territory as a repatriation center for slaves of Caldari origin coming out of Khanid space. They disavow any association, of course, with any illegal activities such as transportation of and housing of any individuals carrying active slave transponders. We will see to preparations there after completing the work at the Khanid center. We will have time between the arrival of the Matriculants and when they are ready to begin the repatriation transportation. We have decided to use our Ation Center as a location for the repatriation of Gallente slaves. Our centers in the Republic are established and ready to receive Matari Matriculants.

The Khanid center preparations are proceeding. The day was spent transporting material donated by the Hamrite religious community to the Khanid center. Donated were: 1000 metric tons of construction materials to be used for infrastructure requirements at the center. 40 metric tons of Frozen food. 40 metric tons of high quality, storable medicines. 500 "Peace Corp" volunteers consisting of young, university educated adults eager to donate time in the humanitarian sector. We are particularly pleased with this as we are unsure what condition the new Matriculants will be in and what kind of help we will need. Finally, a real boost, 80 metric tons of batteries. These run the gamut from the massive cells used to power station board vehicles to cells for portable medical equipment, emergency lighting and right down to the toy flashlights in the care packages given to each child. Great news for DSTON: Below is a communique I received from Edaine Numenor of NUVOS. This is of great help and allows us to proceed without so much as thinking about the first year cost of the Ealur office. Thank you, NUVOS for your continued support and help.

I want to tell you about an experience I had today that reminds me of the importance of values, temptation, and keeping our ideals honest and real. Today, out of the blue, I received a 300,000 ISK donation from a pilot I have never met before. The timing of the donation was a great encouragement as I was involved today in expanding our planetary water production facilities. As part of a non-profit organization, I try to use my personal funds whenever possible when doing such things. However, I don’t have a whole lot of scratch, so the donation seriously helped. But this is just the beginning of the story.

A while ago, I confiscated a large cache of weapons from a can while on patrol. It is my policy never to sell or even to reprocess weapons, lest they or the materials be used for violence. Even though I have hundreds of millions of ISK worth in storage, they will remain that way forever. However, in that cache was also an Interbus Shuttle. Now I must admit that my initial reaction was “Oh cool, now I have something that very few have.” I even named it, put it in my hangar, and admired it. But, when I saw it today, my heart was struck. That Shuttle could be sold and the money used for more important things like saving lives, distilling water, growing food, manufacturing medicine, etc. What possible use does this shuttle have for me? None!

I did not hesitate to use that humble pilot’s donation, but I had that “toy” sitting in my hangar. I don’t want to be a hypocrite. I don’t want to preach one thing and live another. I flew it to Jita and got 300,300,000 ISK for it. I can say that it sure feels good to have it off my hands and to now have enough scratch to fully develop the planetary production facilities we need to support our centers, to pay necessary taxes, and to acquire other necessary support materials for our work.

I want to thank the pilot who made that 300,000 ISK donation. You tipped a domino that needed tipping to get me back on track. This whole thing reminds me of how vulnerable we all are to greed, materialism, and to slipping from the good values that need constant vigilance to keep pure.

Back when I was doing a lot of clone body recovery in the Jita system, I acquired quite a few discarded shuttles. I chuckled as I picked an old plain Gallente shuttle for my return trip and renamed it after the Interbus Shuttle I had just sold.

You can expect Corrupt Concord Police to appeal to the lowest common denominator and to continue to do what profits them the most. They can be counted on to continue in a near constant pucker as they kiss the behinds of the mega-alliances. Those who wish to function in any other way in this universe will receive no consideration or help from the greed and self-serving power brokers at the Corrupt Concord Police. I'm afraid you will have to just learn to live with it. I do pity those you are seeking to help. Once again, it is the poor and innocent that suffer under the powerful and greedy.

In conference together, the DSTON Development office, Ston Momaki, and I have come to recognition that the new system of issuing bounties represents a rudimentary inability and/or unwillingness to express and experience forgiveness.

In order to promote forgiveness as a means of alleviating gratuitous violence and the emotional/mental sickness behind it, we issue the following public proclamations of forgiveness to those who have placed bounties upon DSTON.

Furthermore, we do state in advance that we forgive any who may exercise violence against us while we are performing our duties. Any who may seek to fulfill the bounties are hereby forgiven. We make such proclamations as members of DSTON and do not presume to speak for those employed by DSTON or for those who crew our vessels.

Lest anyone perceive these expressions falsely, they are merely personal expressions by us. They are not absolutions nor expiations of guilt.

Imagination... it can definitly take us capsuleers to see things in our own ways. Your words of wisdom point this out very clearly.

If one with peacefull, creative, or forgiving imagination (or we could always also call it a "mindset") set out upon a battlefield that was filled mainly with those whom are filled with hate or revenge, he or she can see things or different paths that others may not see. That tactical mindset would be different, with other objectives that no one would concider.

Corporate Update.
To better serve our Matriculant population and to meet specific fiduciary conditions, the DSTON Development Office has decided to close the Ealur facility and to begin a study to determine the feasibility of closing and consolidating some of our facilities. Bowman and May Cotton along with Halfred and Bell Greenhand have advised our Development Office that pulling our Centers and planetary facilities together in closer proximity will result in better, more efficient, and less expensive operation.

We wish to publically thank Aliastra Corporation for their help and hospitality during our stay in Ealur. I have instructed Mr. Momaki to finish current production runs in Ealur and then to close down factory facilities there in preparation for consolidation elsewhere. We currently run 3 facilities in Dresi. While not yet determined, we anticipate reducing that number to one facility.

A report will be given when a determination is made.

Corporate Update:

In an effort to enhance the security of our operations and the safety of our Matriculants, Staff, and various others we seek to help, DSTON has initiated a highly mobile structure. This move has resulted in both significant cost savings and in an ability to keep locations of our centers less connected to the registered locations of DSTON. Do to an increase of material production on our planetary instalations, we are now able to move larger amounts of supply to wherever it may be needed. While our central Development administration remains in its present HQ in Edmalbrurdus, we are also prepared to be mobile, close shop, and set up elsewhere on short notice.

In addition to rescue operations headed by Ston Momaki, I am personally in contact with an entity that has been actively helping slaves escape from captivity in Khanid space. We are preparing to help a good number of these through our Matriculation program. The Khanid Abolition Fund is actively searching the massive slave markets of Khanid space and prioritizing those in the worst and most squalid conditions. Bowman and May Cotton, along with Halfred and Bell Greenhand have been in contact with the Khanid Abolition Fund to receive any and all former slaves in to our centers.

We are also grateful to a former DSTON member who continues to provide his Fenrir for larger transport needs. The Khanid focus will be of that scale.

JIHAD has been increasing suicide terrorist operations in Khanid high-security space of late.
