I like it when I read a thread and actually learn something.

'Invisible Mode' - that is so cool.

The Sec status and ISK loss for podding the OP via suicide gank will be pale in comparison to the joy i will receive by doing it.

Where is this going on? I love watching it from my Prowler in 'Invisible Mode'.

Ran across this a couple times. First time I saw the can and was like 'woah.' Then I check around the gate and saw a lot of people not moving and went 'Woah?'. I then read the details of 'PLEX" and went 'Woah!'. So I flew away and cloaked. Someone else came in a couple minute later and grabbed the can and was gunned down and I went "WOAH!'

"Excellent!" (air guitar)

(so ends my impression of Keanu Reeves)

Smegma I like what your trying to do, as you have said you are new to this game.

There is one saying you should ALWAYS remember

"If you find yourself in a fair fight, both sides ****** up."

Don't try and white knight. This isn't the game for it.

I lied :o

I'm all for ganking but don't really like this. I feel like you should only give aggro to people when you actually take something. If you're in a shuttle and say "Sure I'll take that 1000m3 thing out of the wreck" peolpe still get aggro even though you didn't take anything.

Pretty lame. I mean, cool in terms of gameplay, but it doesn't really make sense in terms of immersion or whatever.

TBH the locks happen so fast that they'd get you regardless.

Hmm... I can't see any downside to changing the aggro rules (from attempted theft to actual theft) other than these kinds of kills stopping. Given that you never could have taken anything to begin with, this smacks of "unfairness" (I kinda just mean "bad" here, like an unfair mechanic where there's an imbalance of risk and reward, this shouldn't be taken to mean that eve should be fair - it's fine the way it is, for the most part).

No no, they're not tears. I do sometimes ninja loot outside trade hubs, and I most often die as a result (much more than 50% of the time), but the risk and reward are well balanced and it's an entertaining time sink while you're waiting for something. As I said, the attempted theft aggro mechanic is bad because there should be a potential reward whenever you aggro someone, in principle.

That makes sense, right? When you aggro someone on a gate, you're balancing the chance of killing them (and therefore entertainment, their mods, or whatever strategic value killing them holds) against the risk of not being able to use the gate for a while, taking into consideration also the cost of your ship. And they can't get aggro until you actually DO something to them. If you try to web them in a rookie ship from 25km or whatever, they don't get aggro.

I don't think you should give people aggro for attempting to move cargo that doesn't fit into your ship. You can still do your scam, just make the cargo item smaller, so that more people can loot it. That would probably mean that you would have to make more wrecks, but that's fair and balanced, right? If the issue here is the size of courier containers then maybe the CSM needs to do something about that.

As it stands, the current system is just bad game design.

Also, just as an aside, it seems to me that in Eve you're always waiting. Eve: The Waiting Game.

You didn't know it was bad, because you didn't read the warning. That's just plain stupid. I look forward to depriving you of your isk and ships in the future.

First off OP, you're a tard. It's not a hack or exploit. It's simply a fact that they have a deeper understanding of game mechanics. I strongly suggest you STFU and go do some research or learn more about the game before going off and accusing legit players of hacks & exploits. Also, it's not "invisible mode". It's called a cloak, and they aren't already shooting you before they appear as you have to uncloak, then re-acquire your target lock before you can begin shooting. In most cases this is even delayed by an attribute called "sensor re-calibration time" which is a stat shown on the specific cloak module's attributes tab under show info. Some ships also totally mitigate this delay and you can tell this by the show info on the ship. The description normally shows "No targeting delay after decloak" under the description tab.
